Great Internet Links

Printable Worksheets

  • Itsy-Bitsy Books. A mini-book for each letter. Prints on one page and is folded into a book. Very clever!
  • Worksheets to go with Storybooks. Some lesson sheets to go with some standard stories, such as Brown Bear, and others.
  • Enchanted Learning If you have never seen this site, check it out. Hundreds of workpages, craft ideas, mini-books and more -- on every topic, and every level. It is a bit hard to navigate, so take some time to explore. The search engine is good, and once you are on one page, there are usually links to other worksheets on the same topic, or same type. Many worksheets can be printed for free, others require a subscription (not too expensive.)
  • Bry-Back Manor Over 250 clever activity pages covering many topics (including Jewish Holidays!!)Unfortunately, the pages aren't categorized, it is just ONE LONG LIST and you have to scan down to see what is available.

Printable Books for Young Readers

Online Reading Fun

Online Listening

  • Thought Audio Over 40 books (very advanced and heavy...not for beginners!!!)to download and listen to on your mp3.
  • Online graded dictations - for every level. (Just sit your students in front of it, and go have a cup of coffee, have a nap or do your nails...LOL!!!) They can even correct it themselves.
  • Learn English (Israeli site) Vocabulary practice - read and hear the words. About 40+ topics to choose from.
  • Match Game with audio Click on the "Match Game" link, and then "Learn" or "Play" and you can then navigate through many topics, till you find the one you want. Includes audio.

Handwriting

There are many sites that have sets of printable worksheets to teach handwriting, beginning with basic abc's and up to cursive penmanship. Here are just a few that I came across.I have tried to order them in order of difficulty.

Online Grammar Games - General Sites

Note: For games and quizzes for specific grammar topics, go to my pages on grammar topics and find the associated links in the third column.

  • Quia Have Fun Rags-to-Riches, Jeopardy ("Challenge Board"), Matching Games, Multiple Choice ("pop-up") and other quizzes on a variety of E1L topics. May be too hard for EFL. The irregular plurals is great, though!

Great Sites ... but you have to pay

  • Magic Vocabulary For 10 euro/year, you can have 13 types of worksheets and many online games prepared for you for your vocabulary list. Without paying, it's a great way to get ideas of how to make your own worksheets.
  • Enchanted Learning Tons of worksheets, activities and ideas on every level. A little difficult to navigate, but their search engine works great. Worth the subscription fee. There are many worksheets that can be printed without a subscriptio, but I found this site worth it.
  • Reading A-Z Hundreds of downloadable books (for E1L students!) on every level, with accompanying worksheets and comprehension quizes. Also a section on decodable readers, plays, and poetry. Intended primarily for E1L students, but helpful for all. Also has readers in French and Spanish! It's not very cheap, and I only subscribed once for half a year. There are 30 books that can be downloaded free.
