I'm not Brown anymore...I'm Golden Brown!  Yes, I'm back from the camping trip and well rested, with many tales to tell.

It started off
really bad.  As you must remember, that thunderstorm we had Friday afternoon was dreadful.  Now imagine driving at 140km/h, trying to keep up to the jerk driving the car in front of you so that you don't get lost on this "highway to hell"...not to mention, you can't see anything but buckets of water being swept away by madly swishing windshield wipers, only to be replaced by buckets more of rain!

That was only the beginning.  Just when I thought that the tormentuous ordeal was over (coz it looked like we were near a lake of some sort), I find out that we are
LOST!!!  So eventually, after driving for oh, about _hrs, we finally made it there at 10:30pm...dinner was already served, and we were too tired to party with the rest of the gang.  So we headed off to our respective cabins.  Which, I must admit were better than I expected.  However, it was SOOO hot, I couldn't get much sleep.  Couldn't wait for daylight so that I could check the place out.

The next day was so much fun!  We walked for what seemed like miles.  Walked to the lake and back maybe 20 times!!  So beautiful!  Played badminton with Michelle for like an hour, only to almost die of pain the next day!  Then. on Sunday morning, while we were trying to soak in as much of the scenery as we could before we left for home, something incredible happened.  At the other end of the lake, we saw
four gracious, beautiful, light-brown deer drinking water from the lake.  As we were admiring them, this swan (or pretty white goose) flew right before our eyes, and surfed over the water's surface, finnaly coming to a halt just meters in front of where we were sitting.  I could not contain the excitement I felt!  If only I had my camera on me that moment!  Aargh!

So, apart from the
incessant bugs, the smelly washrooms, the hot nights and the nasty smell of OFF all over my body, I had a blast!
Kinda like the cabin we stayed in.
Ahhh!! So pretty! No wonder we went to the lake so many times!

Ok...so it really sucks that I can't watch the finals live.  I DON'T HAVE CABLE, you see!  Unless CBC is going to be kind enuf to show it, I'll have to catch the retelecast later that day.  Sucks!  My master plan was to watch it at my cousin's place.  Small problem...he's going camping this weekend.  So my fall-back plan is to ask if I could borrow the keys to the house, let myself in, and watch the game...I'd even throw in a "clean-the-basement" freebie!  Now I just have to ask his parents.  Since I've never gone to their house without them being there, it seems awkward even to request such a thing.  But desperation demands desperate measures!

Enuf about that!  Today at work, this guy who was creating a private website for my boss had his last day.  So the boss took us all out to lunch...at
MANDARIN restaurant.  Great food!  I dunno WHAT you were talking about, Alice!  The beef had just the right amount of pepper...tonnes! My colleague even sneezed coz of it...but I was enjoying it completely!  Also had Strawberry Bubble Tea!  Mmmm!!!

World Youth Day is coming!  Stay tuned for further information!

Souvik, you certainly raised the bar on fun with that breakfast! You need to fix your links - coz once I choose to see another page, a frame from your site still remains.  Unless, that was intentional!!  And...free cable...huh?
Jen, why wasn't I warned about the hair?!  I feel sick!  Who are the BC Lions?  Forgive my ignorance.
Pat, you sound like you're having a blast...everyday seems to bring some new experience!
Em, if I told my parents you're learning to cook, they'd pack me off to T-Bay!
Leni, how come you always say you can't make it to our "get-togethers" but always show up anyway?  If this thing works out, I'm expecting you to be there! 8)

Ahem.  For real, though!  Is this thing at my place happening or what?  I'd have to buy fireworks before the place closes tonite (like around 5pm)...it's Sunday, you see! I'll be at a meeting between 3 and 7 pm....so I'll have to escape for a few minutes to do a little shopping.  Lemme know quik! Or....shud I buy it anyway??  If this thing doesn't work out, we can
still have fun...right? I doubt it.
