The ponies awoke in a small thicket, covered in dew. They proceeded down to a stream and took sips of the cool water. An ear peircing scream was let out by Bubbles when she caught her reflection in the water. "Honesty, Bubbles," said Tootie Tails, munching on some grass. "Who are you here to impress? Were lost in the wilderness for goodness sake! NO ONE CARES!" "Calm down," said Raincurl. "Were all upset, just relax." "Okay, lets see. Is everyone done eating? Okay, good. Lets get a move on. Were heading east, because thats what Bubbles memory tells us," announced Magic Star "Bubbles memory isnt a very reliable source, Magic. Youll scare everyone, say were going east because Wigwam says so," whispered Cherry Treat. Magic Star laughed quietly. The ponies plodded along for quite some time. No one said anything. They finally stopped to end when the sun went down. The evening was young, so Steamer built a fire. "Whats the battle plan for tomorrow?" asked Fifi. "Well, I guess well keep heading east," Magic Star replied. "You know? I heard when I was little about this mountain side I think were going the right way!" exclaimed Apple Jack. "Oh but how do you know Apple Jack? Were lost! No one knows where we are. Were all going to die! SOMEONE HELP ME!!! HELP!!!" and Shadys eyes also clouded over, as Magic Stars did in panic. This happened a lot to ponies, especially under stress and in times of need. "Calm down, Shady, relax," said Stockings soothingly. "Lets all get some rest. Weve had a hard day and " Magic Star stopped suddenly. "Whats that noise?" asked Tootie Tails in a panic as she stood up frantically, looking around. "Sounds like" "Oh, noPlease no" "RUN!!!!!" The ponies bolted in every possible direction. Shrill screams were heard everywhere. Magic Star fumbled blindly around in the dark, screaming. Apple Jack and Fifi were soon at her side, running with her. Having no shrubbery or cover to hide under, they all felt incredibly helpless. All they could do was move. Magic Stars stomach lurched as she heard a terrible scream from Cherry Treat. Echos were heard everywhere, echos of her friends being chased down and hunted. "Help! Tootie Tails help me!!" an echo whispered through the tall grasses. Magic Star halted, she couldnt go any further, her friends screams were over powering. "Magic! GET UP! Oh please, please come. QUICK!" sobbed Fifi, tugging at Magic Stars mane. "You must come, please! Dont leave us!" Magic Star arose slowly, looked around helplessly, and gasped as a nightmarish face peered into hers. It was disgusting. It was brown, bald, and wrinkly, with red eyes and bat-like fangs dripping with blood. Arched on its back were wings. It wasnt big, but looking around more carefully, Magic Star that they flew in packs. She screamed and kicked the ugly thing in the face. It screeched and sprang on her back, biting and clawing. More were joining. She screamed and kicked, terrified. Every little pierce of skin were little knives made of razor sharp silver. She heard the horrified screams of Apple Jack and Fifi. With her last bit of energy, she kicked. Her strength was draining, she couldnt hold on much longer. With a desperate sigh, she closed her eyes and all went black. |
