I call it "tractor" because it�s a TDI, and that sound.......is compareable to a tractor sound.
My former car was also a VW Golf, but it was one of the second generation. The engine was a GTI 16 one with more that 130 hps.
........like a rocket, i would say........ :-))
You ask, why? Oh, that�s quite easy to explain.
I made several modifications on my car.........some listed below *g*

green rearlights

a fake-cat
and many things more......
I have to mention, very sadly, that I kissed a wall with my car. The GTI was heavily damaged, near to death :-( !
Well, it was winter, the road was very slippery and.....I got that corner to fast.....
(Some people would say, nothing�s to fast for an GTI....*evilsmile*)
Nevertheless I repaired my loved car. Very often my GTI broke down....., but I think that�s one of the GTI-illnesses they have. One time the petrol-pump another time the clutch.....many strange things happened. Many times I was driving on the highway and the GTI suddenly stopped without seeing a reason at first. Afterwards, there were many very good reasons, why it broke down. *badsmile*
One day, a very friendly policeman stopped me. He aseked my many of those silly questions, like are these modifications are allowed? Well, many policeman oversaw that things, but not this officer. Very correctly he was taking some photographs of my beautiful car.
Well my car had been taken out of traffic, because there were too many not allowed mods.
