Typical Michigan winter - never over freezing for weeks at an end.
So we insulated the garage - completely, with fiberglass batts on all walls and the ceiling beams. Then we bought and fitted a gas fire on the wall and plumbed it into the house supply. So now we have HEAT!
Then we had to fix a leaking car gas tank, wobbly tables and chairs, redecorated two rooms and a few other minor (ha ha ) tasks.
But I now have 2 engines - a Kawasaki 350cc two stroke snowmobile engine ($200) that looks promising as a thrust engine and I have ordered a new 4 stroke 10hp Tecumseh from www. smallenginewarehouse.com for $320 + shipping. This should be a perfect lift engine with electric start and back up recoil rope.
I have also ordered a new MIG welder and have just taken delivery of an air compressor.
Soooo.... The garage looks more meaningful and I have restarted work on the hovercraft, glueing and nailing down the rest of the top deck.

End of March Update
I have started to glass the thrust duct - it is now half done.
I have also added and trimmed both cockpit sides and cut the stiffeners to match.
I have also ordered the hubs, sheaves and drive shaft / bearings from universal hovercraft.
In this time I have also built a welding cart, a headboard from steel tube and also fabricated a stystem for raising a projector to the ceiling in our local church.
Oh.. and I put on a conference for work...
Busy, busy month....
We also managed to fire up the thrust engine. Lots of 2 stroke smoke, huge noise (no silencer), but boy did it go!!!
Cant wait to get this thing finished...
