| The Goose shot up the Eglinton valley was a great success and a good time had by all, except the geese. There were 14 shooters over all but only 7 of these were there for the whole 3 days. There were not as many geese as other years but as we were the first to shoot this season they were a bit easyer to decoy. On the last day there we crept into the bottom pond and hid as one of our party crept around the other side and fushed about 30 geese off it. What a magnificnent sight watching these birds fly off the pond right over your head at about 20 metres. With 4 x 9 shot semis and 4 x 5 shot it sounded like world war III for about 10 seconds. We got 12 geese. They are a big bird and hard to knock down. We got 37 for the 3 days we were there. | ||||||||||||||
