The Queen adopted
a Personal Flag in 1960, and Personal Flags for the countries of which she is
head of state in 1962. They represents the Queen’s personal authority, and
have generally replaced the Royal Standard for use in connection with the
Dominions and the British Commonwealth. The Personal Flag of the Queen for
Canada is the ARMORIAL BANNER of Canada defaced with the personal badge of
Queen Elizabeth II. The Personal Flags for Australia, New Zealand, Barbados,
and the other Realms, are a plain blue shield defaced with the Queen’s
personal badge. Ratio -
The relationship
of a flag's width to its length, e.g. France is 2:3; Germany is 3:5, Russia
is 1:2. RED -

The CIVIL ENSIGN
of the United Kingdom. With a New Zealand badge of the four white stars of
the Southern Cross in the fly, it becomes the New Zealand RED ENSIGN. Reeve -
