Women of inspiration
Through the photographs and articles, it can be seen that within the pages of the Ladies Mirror, the older women of the Victorian era were revered, while the writers themselves were taking hold of the future as advocates of the new women's trends and designs. In 1922, a garden party was held at  Government House in
Auckland. This event was organized by the Victoria League, whch was responsible for promoting many fashionable social
events in Auckland in which the captivating, glamorous gowns were displayed. These occasions also included the Powder and Patches Ball.
