In the first half on the 1980 Hawke marketed the very stylish "SuperCruiser" Hawke/Bonicetti bodied.

In 1979 Wade Motors supplied the only Leader chassis used for a bus in New Zealand.

Auckland Regional Authority Mercedes Benz 0303 acquired 1978 - 1980.

ARA and New Plymouth Mercedes 0305

302 Mercedes Benz 0305 buses with NZMB/VOV B46D bodies acquired by Auckland and New Plymouth between 1973 and 1980.

Other Mercedes Benz Coaches

Mercedes Benz also supplied a small number of OF1315, OF1617 , OF8000, OH1316, 0302 , 0317, 1319. 1634 and 1114 coaches

Mitsubishi

The handful of New Zealand built buses. Japanese imports are excluded

Mount Cook Denning

New Zealand built coaches that dragged us out of the days of Bedfords.

Nissan

Nissan and NDNZ buses in New Zealand.

Norcoach

Northland Truck Services (NTS) built eleven chassis. Eight of these entered service.

North Shore Transport

The lads at Diana Drive did some interesting re-working of Mack chassis in the 1960's. Then in 1969 two coaches of totally new construction were build for Johnstons.

RVL

Five Bedford SB style chassis supplied by Ray Vincent Ltd in 19879/80.

Volvo

Volvo B58

Volvo trucks started to make a big impact in New Zealand in the mid-1970s. In 1978 Volvo agents Dalhoof & King landed two significant orders. One was for Volvo B58 tour and service coaches for Newmans. The other was to supply 68 trolley buses for Wellington City Transport. From then on Volvo have had a significant share of the New Zealand coach market and have sold a small but steady number of buses.

In 1981 the B10M replaced the B58 bus chassis. This page includes the Ansaldo trolley buses on Volov B10M chassis
