| What is the SSLI? |

|
A the moment the SSLI is a league of four owners who use the current (2001) Strat-O-Matic card game. The reason for such a small league is due to not having the luxury of the computer to play games. Over the internet you can play games with people anywhere, at any time. With the card game you have to physically meet with the league in order to play games (a task which we all prefer but is not easy at times). With that said I'm sure you can see why we're also know as "The League That Never Finishes". More than once we've been rolling merrily along the season (meeting once a week) and then we'll hit a road block. Nobody's fault, things come up, and then before we know it a month has past since the last games were played and the season has been displaced. This doesn't always happen, in fact, we have finished several seasons and crowned champions, but I though an explanation for the size of the league was needed. The SSLI at it's smallest (2000) was four teams, it's largest eight teams (though there were only four owners who drafted two teams each). The biggest the SSLI has been with individual owners, was seven (and that season was actually finished). Why am I supplying you with this information? I don't know, at the moment I'm bored and creating a new page here on the site is passing the time, and a little explanation never hurts either. I'm sure i'll think of something more useful to say on this page eventually, but don't hold your breath.
