Each regular meeting of Storytellers
Toastmasters Club provides members and guests with the opportunity
to hone their communication and leadership skills. Members take
turns delivering prepared speeches, evaluating other members'
presentations, and participating in the impromptu speaking exercise
we call "Story Topics." All meetings are led and organized by
Club members, which gives our members the chance to develop their
ability to plan and lead meetings.

"The best way to teach, inspire
and lead is through stories," according to the July 2001 issue
of the Toastmasters International magazine. Our Club's philosophy
is built on that authoritative statement. We're unique among Toastmasters
Clubs for our emphasis on the art of storytelling. We show members
how to use storytelling in all kinds of presentations, including
those for business.

We're proud of our diversity. Our
members include legal assistants, actors, government officials,
sales executives, management consultants, lawyers, students, entrepreneurs,
human resource managers, research scholars, retirees, software
designers and corporate trainers. Our Club reflects the ethnic,
religious and racial diversity of New York City. One-third of
our members were born overseas, including our President.
