Want to be a Radical Cheerleader???

What does it take?
It takes a positive energy, of turning anger and frustration at the way our society is into a political message, coupled with dance moves, yelling, and really short skirts! Well you can wear a long skirt or even pants, though most of us do wear skirts. We make pompoms out of plastic bags and tablecloths and share our cheers through different cheer networks, such as www.radicalcheer.org Check out your hood and see if there's a squad.

What? You live in New York City and are looking to join?
Okay you can join. You passed the tryout. Email [email protected]. The webmistresses include two NYC Radical Cheerleaders Cherie ([email protected]) and Riona ([email protected]).
New cheerleaders can be of any race, religion, sex, background. This is a safe space for lesbian gays bisexual transgendered and straight. We welcome all with an open mind
Typically, we meet every Friday night at 7:15pm--summer months we will be meeting in Tompkin's Square Park, in the bandshell (East 7th St b/t A & B in the middle of the block). If there's ever a concert or something, which we discover when we arrive, let's plan on meeting by the chess tables in the park and we'll discuss it further.
