Chapter 8

Fiery Finale

Same goes for this chapter.  Not proofread and will love to be proofread.  Thankyou. ^ ~

“As for me,” Aksis continued, “I’m a Shadow Elementor.  I can use shadows to the best of my abilities to defeat my enemies and you two are going to be my next victims.”

“I think this is a bad sign.” Alice looked at Mandy, who stared back at her.

“Ah!!” The two girls screamed and started to run around trees, hoping it would act as shields.  They finally found a large bush that was big enough for both of them to crouch behind.  They carefully peeked out of the tiny holes through the bush to see if Aksis was still there.

“It’s no use hiding because I can find you no matter where you are.”  Aksis laughed and he disappeared with a puff of black light.

“What the?” Mandy emphasized the words quietly as she tried to look for the Shadow Elementor through the bush.  Then she heard a scream from behind her.  “Shh…not now Alice, he’ll hear you!” Mandy told her.

“I think he already found us.” Alice replied as Mandy swung around face to face with Aksis.

“AH!!” Mandy screamed and the fluttering sounds of birds came from every direction.  “How did you…?”  Before she could finish her question Aksis grabbed her neck by his hand and squeezed it tight.

“Hahaha…” Aksis laughed his evil laugh again. “I told you. You can’t escape from me.”  Aksis’ hand became tighter and tighter around Mandy’s neck.  Slowly Mandy’s head paled due to the lack of air.

“Get away from her!” Alice yelled. “Cyclone Flame Dance!” Alice tried to attack but nothing happened. “Cyclone Flame Dance!” She tried again, but again nothing happened. “What’s going on?  It worked last time.”

“Hahaha…!  I’m dealing with kids that don’t even know how to control their powers.” Aksis smirked.

“Ah whatever!” Alice said angrily after trying to attack a few more times.  She reached to her back and took out a long arrow.  She placed the arrow to the bow and pulled the string back.  The tip of the arrow quickly lit up in flames and she released the string.  The arrow flew fast but it wasn’t accurate.  So instead of hitting her target it stuck itself into a tree.

“Nice try girl.” Aksis laughed and gripped his hands even tighter.  Mandy was now half-conscious with her head resting on Aksis’ hand.  Then a bright light was emitted from somewhere.  “AH!” Aksis yelled with pain and let go of Mandy, who fell right to the ground.  The light was coming from the tree the Alice shot with her fire arrow.  The whole trunk was now burning and soon the whole tree would turn into ash.  “I’ll remember this!” Aksis shouted, still covering his eyes and disappeared with another flash of black light.

“Mandy, are you okay?” Alice ran towards her and helped her up.  Mandy was coughing and trying to take as much air as she could.  “Let’s get out of here now.  This whole place is going to burn into flames pretty soon.  Alice guided Mandy away.

It was easier for them to find the exit to the forest now with Aksis out of the picture and most of the leaves that were blocking their view burnt.

“Just a little bit more.” Alice said to Mandy.  They got out of the woods and Alice laid Mandy down beside a boulder away from the fire.  “Look!  There’s a town.  You stay here and I’ll go there to see if I can find a doctor.”  With that, Alice left for the town, leaving Mandy there all alone.  Mandy soon fell asleep, but was woken up by a scream.

The boy that they were following in the wood came running out of the fire.  The boy spotted Mandy sitting there and paused to look at her.  “What happened to you?”
