Chapter 7
The
Brawl on the Mountain
“I don’t think you guys have
to wait any longer.” A man came charging in to the room.
“They’re searching through the town trying to look for you three.”
“Us?” Lucy said, astounded. “Why us?
We didn’t do anything…yet.”
“I don’t know, and I don’t care about
what you guys did, but you better get out of here now.” The man looked
seriously at them. “HURRY!”
The three friends ran out the door and it
slammed shut behind them.
“What should we do now?
They’re after us and we have no place to hide!” Aoi said furiously.
“Hold on, I hear something.”
“Is it them?” Richard asked cautiously.
“Come here.” Richard dashed
through a narrow passageway urging Aoi and Lucy to follow.
They reached the end of the passageway and found themselves at an
entrance of a mountain-path. “Let’s go up there!”
“Are you sure it’s okay?” Lucy asked
shakily. “It seems really unwise.
What if we get lost or something?”
“We have no choice.” Richard answered
her quickly and ran up the path with Aoi.
“Hold on! Wait for me!” Lucy shouted after them.
The three of them ran for quite a long time.
They finally stopped for a short break at a big boulder that was stuck to
the ground.
“I think we’ve lost them.” Aoi said,
keeping a lookout.
“How can you not be tired after all that
running?” Richard asked, panting away. Aoi
gave him a weird look and continued on with her lookout.
“I found them!” A voice came from behind
them.
“AH!” Lucy screamed and started to run
again.
“Why are we running?” Aoi asked. “We
can use our weapons.” Aoi turned
around and whacked a Night Stalker hard with her Kendo stick.
A spark appeared where the stick contacted with the person and he fell
down with smoke emerging from his body.
“I want to try!” Richard said
enthusiastically. Then he threw his
spear towards one of the enemies but missed. “Aw…let me try again.
Huh? NO!
I LOST MY SPEAR!”
“What the…why did you throw it?
Don’t throw it!” Aoi shook her head at him.
Instinctively, Lucy reached for her belt and
pulled out a bluish gun with a large hole at where the bullet comes out.
She pointed it at one of the stalkers and fired.
A dense ball of water rocketed out of the gun and crashed against the
stomach of a stalker with a loud sounding boom of splashing.
He fell to the floor almost instantly.
“AH! I killed a person!” Lucy said panicking. “What should I
do? What should I do?”
“Don’t worry!
They’re bad guys who are after us!” Aoi tried to calm her down.
“What if the police catch me?” Lucy
continued.
“Who said there are police here?” Aoi
said as she took consideration of what she said. ‘Hey, there are no police
here. What is this place
anyways?’
“AH!” Richard yelled. “Help!”
“What now?” Aoi looked towards his
direction. Three stalkers were
chasing Richard: one with a long knife, one with a double-jointed stick, and one
with a pair of chopsticks. “Why is that guy holding onto chopsticks?” Aoi
asked herself as the stalker threw the pair of chopsticks at Richard.
It missed and hit the ground creating a big crack.
“Oh…that’s why.” Aoi
quickly ran to where Richard is and swiftly whipped her Kendo stick across the
three of them.
“Yes! I got my spear back!” Richard said. “But there are no
more people…” There were a number of people dressed in black lying on the
ground. It wasn’t a pretty sight,
but they just couldn’t help but be proud of beating these people.
“Guess I should’ve expected more from a
bunch of kids from the other world.” A female voice said softly.
“OH MY GOD!
It’s that guy who kicked us out of the restaurant!” Lucy shouted in
disbelief. “But he’s a man! But
he has a woman’s voice!”
“HAHAHA…!!! You kids are so gullible. I was just trying to drive you three out of the restaurant so we’ll have no trouble stealing all the money and food there.” The female voiced man spoke again. “And my real identity is…”
