Chapter 5

Aksis

            “Are you sure you know the way?  I feel like we’ve been walking forever and it’s getting darker and darker as we walk.” Mandy said as she followed close behind Alice. “AH!” Mandy screamed as something fell off a tree, making a scrunching noise.

            “Don’t scare me!” Alice shouted back. “It’s getting too dark!  We can barely follow you.”

            “Why do I care?” The boy asked as he walked even faster into the darkness.

            “Wait up!” Alice called after him and she also started to walk faster.

            “Ah, not so fast Alice, I’m going to trip!” Mandy said in behind grasping Alice’s should tighter as they went.

            “Get your hands off!  You’re killing me.” Alice fell onto the floor because of the pain Mandy caused.  Consequently, Mandy fell with her and landed on top of her.  “Aw…look what you’ve done!  Now we lost him and we can’t get out of this stupid woods.” Alice said disappointedly.

            “I’m so sorry.” Mandy apologized. “Don’t worry, we can find our own way out.  We don’t need him!  Besides, he doesn’t seem like he knows where he’s going anyways.  Maybe he’s lost himself.”

            The two girls got up to their feet and started to move again.  It seemed like they’ve been walking for a few hours and they still haven’t found their way out of the dark area.  A few times they’ve thought that they’ve seen the light from the outside, but when they walked closer it vanished and turned back into unbearable darkness.

            “I can’t stand this anymore!” Mandy shouted to no one in particular. “It’s like somebody is playing a trick on us!”

            “Hahaha…  You’re pretty smart, girl.” A voice spoke in an evil tone. “But I thought you would’ve found out way sooner than this.”

            “Who’s there?” Alice inspected their surroundings.

            “Let’s not rush into things shall we.” The voice spoke again. “Let me introduce myself.  My name is Aksis, a Night Stalker.”

            “What is a Night Stalker?” Mandy asked Alice.

            “How am I supposed to know?” Alice replied.

            “Huh?  So you never heard of the Night Stalkers.” The evil male voice said surprisingly.  “Night Stalkers are people who works in the Nightmare Corp.  Our goal is to take over this world and everyone will become our slaves forever.”

            “Nightmare Corp.?  Never heard of it.” Mandy added.

            “What are you?  How can you not know about Nightmare Corp.?  Where have you been these past ten years?”  Aksis questioned.

            “At school where we’re suppose to be.” Alice answered dully.

            “School?” Aksis said in a weird way. ‘I see, so they’re from the other world.  No wonder they don’t know anything about us.  But how did they get to this world in the first place.  Can it be?  No, all the dreamstones were destroyed in the war fifty years ago.  Can there still be dreamstones that are functional in the other world.  If so that will mean…”

            “I don’t know what is it you want from us, but we’re going to get out of here now so don’t try to stop us.” Mandy shouted and started to walk away, pulling Alice with her.

            “You’re not going anywhere.  You’re coming with me to see the boss.”  Aksis said as a black ring appeared out of nowhere and tightened itself around Alice and Mandy.

            “Let us go!” Alice yelled loudly.

            “Let you go?  Ha!  I’ll let you go when we get back to our headquarters.” Aksis laughed foully.

            “You’re going to pay for this!” Alice cried. “Cyclone Flame Dance!”  Little bits of fire started to fly out of Alice’s hands in a spinning motion.  It burnt the ring and the girls got free.  Some of the bits hit the ground and there was a loud yelp.

            “How dare you!” Aksis shouted as he rose from the ground. “You’re going to regret that!”

            “He just came out of the ground…” Mandy said unbelievingly.  “And you just had fire coming out of your hands.”

            “I don’t know how I did it.  It just came naturally.” Alice responded.

            “I see you’re a Fire Elementor.” Aksis looked over to where Alice is.  The area was lit up from the bright fire pieces that Alice created.

            “Fire Elementor?” Alice gave a weird look.

            “God, don’t you people know anything?  Fire Elementors are people who possesses the power to use fire.” Aksis explained.

            “Cool.” Alice said dreamily.         

            “As for me,” Aksis continued, “I’m a Shadow Elementor.  I can use shadows to the best of my abilities to defeat my enemies and you two are going to be my next victims.”
