Chapter 4

A Shocking Experience

            “Let’s get something to eat first!  I’m so hungry.” Lucy said as she entered a restaurant-like building. “It smells so good.”

            “IT’S HER!  SHE’S THE ONE!!” A fat woman pointed her finger at Aoi as they entered.  The fat lady had a bandage on top of her head.

            “AH!  Please forgive me!” Aoi went on her knees.

            “She’s the one who came to save us.  And I believe those are the other two that the prophet was talking about!” The lady continued.

            Everyone turned their heads towards the three of them and there was total silence.  A few of them, who were drinking beer, dropped their beer bottles on the floor, which made a loud smashing sound.

            “We’re finally saved!” A man shouted, braking the silence.  “They’ll show the Night Stalkers who’s boss and then they’ll never come to disturb our peace ever again!”

            Everyone cheered, and those who still have drinks in their hand raised it high and started to drink like there was no tomorrow.  The three of the friends looked at each other and then Lucy and Richard looked at Aoi for an explanation.

            “Hey don’t look at me.  I just ran into that woman and she started to say something about how a prophet said that we’re here to save their village.”  Aoi said raising arms a little.

            “Hey wait a second!” Richard shouted and silenced the whole restaurant.  “We got here by some kind of mistake, and even though we have these weapons, we don’t know where they came from.  Besides, we might not even know how to use them.”

            “Well you don’t have to use your weapons if you don’t want to.  Don’t you guys have special powers?” The lady asked them with an expectance of the word yes on her face.

            “What powers?” Lucy reflected. “We don’t have any powers, we’re just normal people.”

            “That’s ridiculous!” An older man stood up and walked towards the three friends. “Can’t you do something like this?” The old man held up a finger and water started to spray out like a fountain.

            “That’s just gross, old man.” Aoi said looking at his finger with a disgusted look on her face.

            “How dare you!” The old man shouted and raised both of his hands out. “Sparkling Waterfall!” A rush of water appeared at where his hands were blasted across the room towards Aoi.  Aoi took the water blast and flew back and hit the wall.

            “Why you old piece of junk!” Aoi shouted back across to him. “Electric Revolution!”  The whole room lit up and loud screams can be heard through the bright light.  The light slowly faded and everything was back to normal.  “Heh?  Why is everyone on the ground?”

            “You zapped us!  What do you think?!” Richard shouted at her.

            “I did?” Aoi looked around the room.  “I guess I did…  Yea!  I got my revenge and I’m the strongest person here!”

            “Sure…” Lucy said dully as smoke rushed out of her mouth.

            “Ooh, I’m so sorry.” Aoi pardoned herself as she helped Richard and Lucy off the floor.

            “I think we’ve found the right people.” The old man said as he got up.

            “You did that on purpose just to make sure that they’re the right people?” Another man asked as he slowly rose from the ground.”

            “Of course I did.” The old man replied.

            “YOU ALMOST COST US OUR LIVES!” Everyone in the room yelled at the same time.

            “Hey, until the Night Stalkers come again, you three can stay at my house.” The fat lady said. “My name is Darcy.”

            “I don’t think you guys have to wait any longer.” A man came charging in to the room.  “Guess what.”
