| Here are some of our Gymkhana Game discriptions : Breaking the pattern or knocking over any equipment is a disqualification (DQ). Barrels may be righted as you turn them but not held up. This applies to all events. All games may be demonstrated, if requested! ARIZONA KEYHOLE/KEYHOLE - Riders ride down the field through ground poles into a "keyhole" turns the horse or rounds a pole and rides back to the finish line. Poles may not be touched. SKILL BARRELS - Three barrels set in a row across the back of the ring. Rider rides to the RIGHT of the middle barrel, weaves the barrel on the left then procedes to weave the middle and right barrels ending up on the right side of the middle barrel than rides back to the finish line. FLAG & BACK - Using six barrels, 2 sets of three parallel to each other. The two inside barrels have a bucket of flags on them. You must ride into (between) the barrels, grab a flag and BACK your horse out, spin and ride to the finish line! SPEED BALL - Rider must drop a golf ball into the top of a cone while turning a barrel (that the cone is on) and ride to the finish line. SPEAR RACE - Rider must ride around the ring with "spear" in their hand and spear rings hanging from each pole. Rider must bring all rings to the finish line or they are DQ'd! RING TOSS - Rider must "toss" or place rings around cones as they round barrels (that the cones are on). JOCK STRAP - Rider must grab ball from first Ball & Chain pole and drop it in a bucket at the top of the ring, then ride to ball on pole at the other side of the ring and return to the bucket at the top of the ring. Drop the ball in and ride to finish line. Balls must stay IN the bucket. PONY EXPRESS - Follow course to saddle bag, grab paper from bag and ride to finsh line. Must have paper in hand at finish line. PEPPERMINT TWIST - Rider figure 8's two barrels at bottom of ring, then pole bends three poles in center of ring, up and back and rides to finish line. SLIP KNOT - Rider rides through the middle of two barrels at far end of ring turns either left or right, rounds that barrel rides STRAIGHT across to the second barrel, circles it and back between the barrels to the finish line. BEND & HURDLE - Rider weaves through 3 poles and a small jump set up on the right side of the ring, around the top of barrels, over the second jump and weave through 3 more poles set up on the left side of the ring, to the finish line. FLAG RACE - Two barrels set up in center of the ring. Rider must ride in, remove a flag from a bucket on the first barrel, ride to the second barrel and place the flag into another bucket and remove a flag from that same bucket. Ride back to the first barrel and place teh second flag into that bucket then cross the finish line. CRAZY EIGHT - Two barrels set up in the center of the ring. Rider must ride between the two barrels, circle the top barrel, go between the two barels again, circling the bottom (first) barrel, then back up and over the top barrel, again, then back to the finish line. DOUBLE BARREL TWIST - This is a combination of Twister and Peppermint Twist. Rider figure 8's two bottom barrels, weaves 3 poles in center of the ring, figure 8's two top barrels, weaves back through the poles and to the finish line. TRIPLE THREAT - Rider figure 8's 3 sets of barrels, then rides down through the center of the barrels to the finish line. GRAB & GO - Opposite of Speed Ball, Rider rides in and grabs a ball, circling the top of the barrel and race out. |
