Don't forget, at the end of this match, unless Zed Logan is rendered UNCONSCIOUS, Geeves is set to receive a beating courtesy of the "Black Thunder"!!
Dave - I doubt that Geeves has forgotten THAT little bit of information at all, Rick...
["Iron Man" by Black Sabbath starts to play The crowd is on their feet for Zed Logan. ]
Pattera - And his opponent, Ladies and Gentlemen, from Death Valley, Introducing "Black Thunder" Zeeed Looogaaan!!!
[The chants over power the announcement as Zed Logan charges to the ring.]
Rick - Logan rushes in- Thrust kick by "Black Thunder"- caught by Esquire! Insuguiri- ducked by Esquire! Still with the foot- grabs the other- into a Scorpion deathlock right off the bat!! But Zed Logan has the ropes and Danny Dickson calling for a clean break...
[The bell rings and the match officially begins.]
*** Esquire Vs Zed "Black Thunder" Logan ***
Dave - Esquire now, with "Black Thunder" by the ankle- DRIVES the knee of Logan down into the canvas! "Black Thunder" trying to push himself to his feet... Esquire just waiting for him... Logan up- Crossface chickenwing applied by Esquire!! "Black Thunder" struggling... He gets to the ropes and the referee calls for a break. They tie up... We've got a struggle for power... Esquire using his leverage to overcome the power of the NX strongman and comes out on top with a reverse neck breaker! Esquire with his legs again!... going for the figure four- OW!! Esquire decides to go for the wishbone instead!
Rick - Nice work there by Esquire! He's aware of the size advantage that Zed Logan has and he's working the legs and groin area nicely from the start here...
Dave - Esquire now with a cover: 1- NO! "Black Thunder" with the easy kickout. Esquire and "Black Thunder" both getting their footing- Logan off the ropes- Drop toehold by Esquire! Like him or not, you can't argue that Esquire is one heck of a competitor and quite the skilled technician.
Rick - No kidding! He's been giving Zed quite a wrestling lesson here so far!
Dave - Esquire on his feet now and quick off the ropes- Elbow drop- Zed Logan out of the way just in time! Zed Logan rolling Esquire onto his back... Covering: 1- No, Esquire just rolls him off.
Rick - And it's Logan up first. He has Esquire- sends him to the ropes- Sleeperhold by the "Black Thunder"! Looks like it might be nap time for Esquire- NO! Esquire with a back elbow just in time! Zed Logan taking a knee from that blow, but is up again, not giving Esquire much time to catch his breath- BOWLS him over with a clothesline! He has him in his sights... and DROPS the falling headbutt!
Dave - Zed Logan really turning the momentum in this match around!
Rick - And just listen to the fans, Dave: They're just LOVING this!
Dave - They love NX, no doubt about it! Both men now slow to their feet...
Rick - Esquire picks him up- tilt-o-whirl slam!! Where did THAT come from? And "Black Thunder" is down! Esquire's going for a boston crab. Zed Logan somehow slips out of it! Esquire making his way around Zed... Front facelock applied by Esquire. He's holding it, but "Black Thunder" getting to his feet- Esquire up with him... turning the move around- Neckbreaker drop! Nice one! Esquire now following up nicely with a reverse chin lock on Zed Logan trying to wear him down. Esquire really leaning on Zed Logan so that he's carrying all the weight. Zed Logan now- managing to struggle free... "Black Thunder" shaking it off... But it's Esquire up first and bringing Logan to his feet the hard way- Headbutt by Esquire sends "Black Thunder" back down to the mat!
Dave - But Zed Logan is back to his feet in a hurry! Kick to the mid-section by Logan- and he nails Esquire with a falling jawbreaker! Zed Logan on his feet again! Stomping away at Esquire!! Esquire seems to be having trouble getting back on the offensive... And take a look at Geeves! He looks MIGHTY nervous out there, considering his employer isn't fairing so well in the ring right now...
Rick - Zed Logan now off the ropes aaand- Drops down onto him with the splash! And it's "Black Thunder" up once again- Off the ropes- DOWN with the elbow drop! What a comeback here by Zed and the crowd is cheering him on wildly! Both men slow to their feet this time... And it's Zed Logan up first and bringing Esquire to his feet the hard way- Clothesline by Logan- NO!! Esquire throws him down to the mat with a big hip toss! Esquire with the legdrop- Missed it! he may have taken the brunt of it right on his tailbone, too!
Dave - Logan now- crawls on top of Esquire and he's just beatin' the HECK out of him! Danny Dickson sees a closed fist and pulls Logan off of him. But Logan lands a quick kneedrop to add to the damage! Front facelock applied now by Zed Logan. He's holding it, but Esquire getting to his feet- A punch to the ribs by Esquire and Zed Logan releases the hold. Logan holding onto his ribs... But Esquire now rolling under the ropes and to the outside and Zed Logan's in hot pursuit! Zed Logan charging- OH!! Esquire dodged and Logan hit the post! Esquire now rolling Logan back and following suit...
Rick - Logan to his feet first and he has Esquire by the ankle- YANKS him off his feet! Now with a spinning toe hold applied! Esquire struggling! Zed Logan drops the elbow! Logan rolls over on top of him! Danny Dickson counting- 1... 2... NO! Zed Logan almost put this one way. "Black Thunder" not wasting any time getting to his feet, though. He measures Esquire up... hits the falling headbutt!
Dave - Sounded like two big coconuts colliding! Esquire though on the move- OW! And with the rake to the eyes before Logan could get up!
Rick - On his feet now and off the ropes- Elbow drop- "Black Thunder" dodging once again!!! But I think that Esquire may have seen that coming as he's not wasting any time getting to his feet at all... He measures "Black Thunder" up... NAILS falling headbutt this time!
Dave - Both of these men are going to need some serious headache relievers after this one's over! Say what you will about Esquire, but he's getting up again and he just keeps coming at Logan! DOWN with the kneedrop! Covering: No! Only a one count.
Rick - Esquire on his feet and Logan trying to push himself to his feet... Esquire just waiting for him.. Logan up- Cobra clutch applied by esquire- DOWN into a slam!! Esquire now pulling Logan up and backing "Black Thunder" into the corner... European uppercut by Esquire! And another! "Black Thunder" in the ropes and Danny Dickson backing Esquire to the middle of the ring... And Esquire just SPIT in "Black Thunder"'s face from halfway across the ring! Ho HO! And "Black Thunder" returns the favor with some spitting of his OWN!! What accuracy! Logan moving in- They lock up- AGAIN it's Esquire using Zed Logan's side advantage against him with a judo-style throw! Diving onto Zed- He's pounding away at the forehead of "Black Thunder"!
Dave - What an incredible series of punches!! The ref must have seen a closed fist or three though, as he's backing Esquire off and warning him about something...
Rick - "Black Thunder" getting his footing and shaking the effects of those punches off- Esquire off the ropes- Drop toehold by "Black Thunder", showing a little technical skill of his own! Both men up- Here we go with a tie up... Who's coming out on top Dave?
Dave - WOAH!! Zed Logan undeniably coming out on the top of that one, as he practically THREW Esquire across the length of the ring! Off the ropes- DOWN with the elbow drop! Zed Logan is up now on top of Esquire- he's all over him with a series of closed fists and forearms! Esquire trying desperately to get out of there, but it's no use! He has NOWHERE to run! What a match this has been so far!
Rick - I'll agree with that: it's been back-and-forth all the way!
Dave - You're not kidding! This one could go either way, Rick!
Rick - But Zed's in control right now, Dave, and he's bringing Esquire over to the corner and setting him up on the top turnbuckle... Logan right up there with him- SUPERPLEX!!! Whew! I thought he was going to add fuel to the Esquire/ Hellraiser battle there with a superbrainbuster for a second... Both men lying in the middle of the ring and Danny Dickson having no choice here but to start a count: 1... 2... 3... 4... Logan getting to his feet with the help of the ropes... Helping Esquire up now... OH!!!! Low blow there by Esquire, and I don't think the ref saw it! Esquire to his feet now and pulling Zed up- Irish whip to the corner! Follows him in there slowly... Now Esquire hoisting him up on the top rope and going up there with him- is it going to be the Money Talks?!...
Dave - NO! Flips Zed down with a superplex of his own!
Rick - Zed was trying to block a superbrainbuster, so Esquire smartly went for the superplex instead, and all this moves off the top rope really have to be taking their toll on both of these men, Dave. If they keep this up, who knows how much they'll have left when it comes to their appearances at the Battle for the Crown?
Dave - I'm not sure, Rick, but it's Esquire pulling himself up now... Covering: 1... 2... Thr- NO! Zed Logan getting the shoulder up and the crowd is on its feet for him!
fans - Lo-GAN! Lo-GAN! Lo-GAN!
Dave - Zed Logan on his feet and he's getting riled up with this crowd support! Esquire takes a swing- blocked by Logan! Logan with a big right hand! Return left from Esquire- Blocked! And Logan ROCKS Esquire with another right hand! Esquire stunned! Logan off the ropes- FLATTENS Esquire with a lariat!! Zed Logan a powder keg ready to go off here!
Rick - And he's not done yet with this second wind, Dave! Pulling Esquire up off the canvas by the wrist- Twists him into a pumphandle- up and DOWN with the big pumphandle slam!!! Esquire in a whole lot of trouble here as the "Black Thunder" is on the warpath!
Dave - You're not kidding! Pulling Esquire up by the wrist again and bringing him over toward the corner... Arm wringer by Zed Logan. Zed Logan now climbing the turnbuckles and what are we going to see here?... Zed Logan- My GOD! He's walking out along the ropes like a tightrope walker while still holding on to Esquire's arm- DOWN with a big clubbing fist onto Esquire's shoulder!! Esquire down and holding onto his shoulder, and with nearly 350 pounds coming down onto that one point, there's no mystery as to why! What a MOVE that was by Logan!
Rick - You said it, Dave! We've seen Logan here in the PW for a while, but that was a new one that he pulled out his arsenal, and quite effectively I might add! The crowd here STILL can't get over a seven foot tall man tightroping the top rope like that, and to tell you the truth, I'm as shocked as anyone at the finesse and balance that required of the standard powerhouse of the "Black Thunder".
Dave - Logan once again pulling Esquire up- Irish whip to the ropes- Esquire off them- HUGE powerslam by Zed Logan! And with the cover: 1... 2... 3!!! NO!! The referee indicating to Zed that Esquire's foot was on the bottom rope!
Rick - You have to give a skilled competitor like Esquire a lot of credit for still have the presence of mind to know exactly what his ring poitioning was on that, Dave. A lot of people aren't terribly keen on Esquire unless he's going toe to toe with the more dislike Dave Carson, but no matter who he's fighting, he's one to look out for.
Dave - But that near fall seems to only have succeeded in getting Logan angrier, Rick, as he just YANKED Esquire up off the mat! Backing Esquire into the ropes now- Sends Esquire for the ride! Esquire off the ropes- Big boot- Esquire slid under it!! Esquire up in a burst- Logan spinning- connects with a boot to the gut and still spinning- over the shoulder- NO!! Esquire shoves him- JESUS!!!! SPEARED HIM FROM BEHIND!!
Rick - WOW, what a series of moves, and Esquire coming out on top of the exchange! I thought that Zed had him there with an over the shoulder jawbreaker, but Esquire shoved him away and connected with a VICIOUS spear tackle right into the spinal area of the big "Black Thunder". The big man on the mat now and I think he may be hurt, Dave... - Would it be any surprise after that move?! Esquire in control now and I'd say he has the chance to put this one away right here... Irish whip by Esquire- reversed by Logan- Esquire reverses it again! Logan slamming into the turnbuckles!! Esquire now following him in...
Rick - In there and hoisting the bigger Zed Logan up onto the top turnbuckle and following him up there! I think it's time for the Superbrainbuster, Dave! Dave Carson might have been conspicuous in his absence tonight, but you can bet he's watching this... lifting aaand THERE it is: Money Talks, that patented top rope brainbuster of his! Esquire making Danny Dickson's work REALLY easy with that move as he goes for the cover: ...1 ...2 ...3!
[The bell rings and Beethoven's 5th symphony plays... The ref raises Esquire's hand in victory, but Esquire just snatches his hand away from the grasp of the ref, looking at him threateningly and condescendingly.]
Pattera - Ladies and Gentlemen, here is your winner... Esquuuiiireee!!!
Dave - Zed Logan holding onto the back of his head after that move, but it's surprising that he's even still conscious, folks: that move, thought tonight may be the LAST time we see it in Esquire's repertoire, may be one of the most devastating weapons that this sport has to offer if you ask me.
Rick - You know it, Dave: dropping someone DIRECTLY on their skull from the top rope isn't exactly comfortable, no matter HOW big or strong you are! And Zed Logan, as much as the crowd is disapproving of his opponent right now, learned that the hard way! But like you said, Dave: Zed is STILL CONSCIOUS! You know what THAT means!
Dave - It means that Geeves had better get the heck out of here! And while Esquire and his goons stride back up the ramp offering NO protection to the already injured butler, Zed Logan is coming to his senses! Sliding out of the ring now is Logan and giving chase to Geeves!! Geeves limping away gingerly, and Logan gaining ground fast... he has Geeves by the back of his collar! And he's pulling him back toward the ring now!
Rick - Looks like Zed has the intention of making an example out of Geeves here tonight, despite the loss to Esquire! Rolls the butler back into the ring! Climbing in himself and Geeves trying to flee once again! Zed's nabbed him by the shirt! Yanks- OH!!! A clothesline! He just about DECAPITATED the poor man! Logan pulling Geeves up... Whips him to the turnbuckles- OH!! And Geeves hit hard! Logan moving in- My GOD! Is he going to go for the ThunderShock DDT?!?!! He'll KILL poor Geeves! Somebody stop this!
Dave - No, wait! Logan releasing the front facelock and deciding to just rough Geeves up a bit... Thank goodness for Geeves' sake... Logan now- tosses Geeves over the ropes and to the outside, and following him out there at a leisurely pace... Has Geeves by the collar again... hauling him up the ramp- tosses him over the steel rail- and right into the lap of... err... a very attractive young blonde.
Rick - Zed knew that there wasn't much challenge in fighting Geeves, Dave: What would the point have been to ThunderShock someone of his size anyway? It wouldn't have proved a single thing. It's nice to see that the big man realized that Geeves has bene through enough already.
[The shot cuts from Zed heading to the back, to Geeves with the pretty lady, to the announcer's table.]
Rick - Looks like Geeves may have found a new friend there in that pretty mademoiselle. I wonder what his boss will think of all this?
Dave - Probably not too much- I don't think he could care less about Geeves. Why the man doesn't just leave Esquire and find someone better to work for is beyond me...
