Some answers to your Question

The Questions:        backtofaq.gif (1581 bytes)
[1999 Book]

1. How should I answer the Questions?

Note Answers to Sections one and two should be detailed. Extra pages may be added at any point.

Section One: ALL Questions to be answered.

  1. Needs you to analyse the good and attractive points of the BB.

Remember that the BB extends beyond your own Company; there are Battalion, District and National events to challenge and appeal.

What does a twelve year old want from life? (perhaps ask one or two if you can't remember). How can the BB supply these wants and needs?

Think about this! A twelve year old will want different things from a 6 year old, an 8 year old and a 15 year old.

  2. NOT just a list of activities; reasons why you enjoyed them. Anything that you enjoyed, but did not expect to beforehand/ What made the "best time" to be the best time? -- Do you have any photos or souvenirs of that time that can be included?
  3. Again, not just a list of activities. Detailed suggestions. Think about all five aspects of our programme (Adventure, Christian Leadership, Community, Interests and Physical).

Think of things for your meeting night and venue, but also think beyond them -- trips & visits, cinema/bowling nights, concerts, weekends away etc.

Consider joint activities with other groups within your Church or community. The girls' group, the Old People's group, lads & dads events, the local group for children with disabilities are just some examples.

Think of things that can be done at no cost, as well as those with financial implications (and perhaps some to raise funds).

  4. Here is chance to express your (positive) feelings towards what the BB has given you as you have grown and developed. Do not forget to use this opportunity to express your gratitude to the Officers and leaders who have served you.

Has your BB membership helped you get a job, started you on a new hobby or led to new friendships? Tell us!

Section Two: Answer only ONE question.

  1. Quote the verse or verses, give the full reference and say which version of the Bible you have used.

Give a full reason why the verse(s) is special to you. if appropriate, try to give the meaning in your own words.

  2. Think of your own Church, and think of the Church in general.

What does it mean to "become a member" in your Church tradition? E.g. confirmation, baptism etc.

Section Three: Answer only ONE question.

The report or poster for this section may have to be presented separately from your Record Book depending on it's size.

Any one of these three questions will involve a great deal of research, including making contact with appropriate agencies. There are some contacts in the panel to the right. Also, explore the links from the BB home page for more information. (http://www.boys-brigade.org.uk).

Be prepared to present your report, poster or presentation on your Completion Course.

If doing the project in question 3, a video report would be welcome.
