I carried out a study under the Penang Conservation Plan titled Determining the current status of hill development, soil erosion and coastal erosion, and flooding in Penang; and suggestions for protection of hill land, controlling soil erosion and coastal erosion and flood mitigation for incorporation into the Penang conservation Plan (1997-1999).

This committee reviews, evaluates and assesses the credibility of EIA reports submitted for environmentally sensitive development projects. It is based at DCT Consultancy Services Sdn Bhd. 10 Pesiaran Bukit Jambul (College Antarabangsa/International College) 11900 Bayan Lepas, Pulau Pinang. The committee is headed by Dr Leong Yueh Kwong (1996 - 1997).

(8) Climate, Water Resources and Flood Mitigation Consultant in AR & T Heritage Consultancy Sdn Bhd, 128 Lebuh Armenian, 10200 Penang for the project Kajian Saliran Dan Konsep Pembangunan Untuk Kawasan Barat Pulau Pinang (Drainage and Development Concept For Western Penang Island). I was consultant for and wrote the section on Hydrology (July 1998 - May 1999).

(9) Hydrology Consultant for The Department of Environment Malaysia's "River Classification Project". I carried out the study and wrote the report on the hydrology of three river basins, viz. the Sg Pinang, Sg Muda and Sg Merbok river basins. The project is coordinated by Professor Mashhor Mansor of the School of Biological Sciences, USM (August 1998 to August 1999).
