The other researcher is Professor Hsiang-te Kung of the Department of Geography, University of Memphis, Tennessee, USA. The period of the research is from 17 August 2000 to 30 June 2001.

(18) Chan N W Assessment of Available Water Resources, Water Supply and Demand, Issues, Threats and Recommendations for Sustainable Development of Water Resources in Penang in the 21st Century. Funding applied for under the Short-term Intensification of Research in Priority Areas (IRPA) of the Ministry of Science, Technology and the Environment (MOSTE) of Malaysia. I am the sole researcher.
