Parma Waltz
I find Parma Waltz to be one of the lesser socially danced New Vogue dances. Unfortunantely many say its the most boring of the New Vogue style. While that may be true to the experienced dancers the Beginner will find it a lovely dance to learn and perform because of its simplicity. Lets face it, everyone enjoys doing a dance they excecute well and Parma Waltz is done well by anyone!

Parma Waltz is danced in
Shadow Hold to the New Vogue Waltz Timing, based on the Viennese Waltz Rhythm. Dont let that worry you.....when I first heard this I immediately had images of professional couples blitzing around the floor at breakneck speeds!.
This New Vogue rhythm is danced to 3/4 timing however the tempo is slower, between 48-54 bpm is the accepted level.

Some basic verbal cues I used for this dance were:

Walk, Walk, Turn.
Walk, Walk, Walk, Close
Walk, Walk, Turn.
Walk, Walk, Walk, Close
Walk, Walk, Walk , Walk
Side, Behind, Side, Close
Side, Behind, Side, Close
Side, Behind, Side, Close
Side, Behind, Side, Close
Walk, Walk Swivel
Out, Together
In, Together
Waltz 123, 223,323,423,523,623,723, step, side.
(Waltzes- these are based on the Viennese Waltz , Lady will take her first step on the R foot between the mans feet,  then side close, L back, side, close ETC. Man will take his first step L back then side, close, R forward, side ,close)

Some Songs I enjoy for this Dance are
Im Wit You - Avril Lavigne
Kiss From A Rose - Seal
Iris- Goo Goo Dolls
After The Ball is Over - Nat King Cole
