History of Gunman
The reason that I started gunman is simple I had a choice between revising for my GCSE�s or finding something else to do. So being me and hating work of any kind I started gunman and finished Fight (well kinda). Oh GCSE�s are the end of high school exams 4 us in the UK. It started off as a little mess about two see if I could make anything with FPS2D (the tile library). So after about two months from 1 month before my GCSE exams to a month after I worked most night�s on gunman. And that makes up 4 most of the code that still exists. I then stopped working on any programming until I went to collage and found an old copy of the code. That was mainly coz boredom and other things ;-) took my attention away. This code was a very old version it was from just before my exams and had huge chunks that I remember working on missing L witch wasn�t help full. But any way that�s the history of the game.
The Ideas
Well I don�t think ill ever finish this and turn it into a polished working game. Before I do stop working on it and move on two a new project I will integrate some network code into it to make it multiplayer. I may clean up the code a lot and then use parts of the code as a base for some other ideas that I have at the moment. The game will end up with an AI and network support (and some working shot functions!) before I give up. I think at one point it was going to become a dope wars type of game about survival in a crime-hardened city� but I now don�t think that will happen. In the next game maybe :-) |
