| What does "xian" mean? Is it an insult? It is not an insult. When writing the name "Christ", it is quite common to abbreviate it to X or x, representing the first letter (chi) of the Greek XPICTOC khristos. According to the Oxford English Dictionary, the use of the abbreviation "xian" or "xtian" for "Christian" dates back at least as far as 1634. Many members of the A/A board proclaimed their adoration for The Yellow Lemonade Fairy during a spat between two trolls of rival Christian denominations who decided to duke it out on the A/A board (for reasons that are still a great mystery). Inevitably, worshippers of the Pink Lemonade Fairy and several other rival sects showed up to join the fray. Unfortunately the thread, now widely considered an imporant gnostic text, was lost. PLF and YLF worshippers continue to practice their religion in secret. |
