CAN NURSING INTERVENTION BE ENHANCED TO SAVE PATIENTS WHERE PERIPHERAL VASCULAR ACCESS COLLAPSES?

In today’s world of fast and changing technology, training and educating nurses in new and upcoming technology is of vital importance. When a patient is in critical condition and peripheral access collapses and Central Vascular Access is time consuming. Rapid and appropriate nursing intervention is critical, and nurses must rely on their knowledge, and skills in assessing and choosing their intervention. F.A.S.T.1 is a new device that nurses must learn so they can deliver rapid vascular access. Without rapid vascular access the delivery of fluids and drugs is not possible and patients whose lives might have been saved will be lost. The F.A.S.T.1 device will save time and therefore increase the possibility of saving lives.
