Pertubuhan Kebajikan Anak Yatim Terengganu ( PERKAYA )

PERKAYA was recognized by YAB Dato 'Seri Amar Diraja Tan Sri Wan Mokhtar bin Ahmad Terengganu Menteri Besar (1970-1999) at the State Government Exco meeting on April 8, 1979. He had asked YBM Dato' Tengku Mahmud bin Mansor, Chairman of the Welfare and Conservation Committee The State of Terengganu was then "to deal with the problems of suffering and hardship and the hardship of life experienced by some orphaned children due to family poverty, abandoned and not receiving the necessary basic services and ease." A further discussion of the results of several meetings was conducted involving various group strategies to find the best approaches and approaches to addressing this issue. Perkaya has 3 branch which located at Kuala Terengganu, Marang and Besut.

  • 8 April 1979 : Terengganu State Exco Meeting assigns the Chairman of the Welfare and Conservation of the State to find a way to deal with the problem of orphans in Terengganu.

  • July 2, 1979
  • The first meeting was held to discuss the establishment of PERKAYA. The meeting was chaired by YBM Dato' Haji Tengku Mahmud bin Mansor, Terengganu state executive council member.


  • 29 November 1980
  • PERKAYA Establishment General Meeting was held and a Protem Committee was formed,
    chaired by Dato 'Haji Mahmud bin Tengku Mansor.

  • June 24, 1980
  • Temporary authorization letter given by the Registrar of Societies to PERKAYA operate.

  • December 4, 1980
  • PERKAYA registered under the Corporations Act 1966
    with registration number 418 (Terengganu) with its official name,
    Terengganu Orphans Welfare Association (PERKAYA).
