Nu Lamda Pi is affiliated with the international Society for the Second Self. We affirm the goals, philosopies, and bylaws that Tri-Ess promotes. As such, we support and further these principles.
Tri-Ess

Tri-Ess is an educational, social and support group for heterosexual crossdressers, their spouses or partners and their families. We support both crossdressers and their spouses. We believe that we are blessed with an additional facet to our personalities. If we accept our crossgendered side, and explore it, we will find a broadening of the entire personality, which can be very fulfilling. We dress in emulation, rather than in mockery, of femininity. The Tri-Ess philosophy can be expressed in the acronym FIBER:

F - Full personality expression in both its masculine and its feminine aspects. We do not wish to destroy our masculinity, but to soften its harsher aspects, and be all we can be.

I - Integration of masculinity and femininity to create a happier whole person.

B - Balance between masculinity and femininity.

E - Education or crossdressers and their families toward self-acceptance; education of society toward accepting crossdressing people.

R - Relationship-building in the context of crossdressing.
Frequently Asked Questions:
1.Why is the affiliation with Tri-Ess important to Nu Lambda Pi and me?
As an affiliate of Tri-Ess, the goals for this organization are clearly defined and stated above. As part of a larger community, we have additional resources and opportunities for growth and development.
2. Is this organization limited to crossdressers only?
No, we welcome not only the crossdresser, but the spouse or significant other, parent, or child. We also extend membership to qualified professionals.
3. I have concerns regarding my personal security. How is my anonimity insured?
Our meetings are not public. Confidentiality is of upmost importance to us. At no time is it necessary to reveal your true name, address, profession, or other personal data. Most of our crossdressers have adopted femme names with which they are associated. In addition, we recommend that you obtain a post office box in your own name, but list your femme name as someone permitted to receive mail there. You might also consider setting up a free e-mail account the for purpose of exchanging messages and information over the internet. Some ISP's provide additional mailboxes free of charge. Other suggestions include Yahoo, MSN, Java, and other programs.
4. I am interested, but I don't have the resouces to adequately "pass" in public. Do I have to attend meetings in crossdress?
Most of our members embrace the opportunity to be dressed and out at our meetings. However, there is nothing that says you must come in dress. There is also no need to feel that your ability to "pass" has any bearing on your acceptance into Nu Lambda Pi and TriEss. Our members vary greatly in their abilities and resources. We do encourage exchange of information between members on tips, hints and suggestions to make the most of the female personna they exhibit. The sharing of this information creates a close bond between members.
5. I am a F-M (female to male) crossdresser. Am I eligible to join TriEss and Nu Lambda Pi?
Yes, just as the male to female crossdresser wants to celebrate both his maleness and his femaleness, you, too, can benefit when both your femininity and masculinity are free to express themselves.
6. Is this a BGLT group?
While none of these is specifically excluded from our membership, this organization is intended to meet the needs of the heterosexual crossdressing society. There might be other organizaions that would meet your needs better. Ask us if we can suggest another organization that might offer you a better support group.
7. I am a teen. May I join and attend Nu Lambda Pi meetings?
Unfortunately, you may not join if you are under the Michigan legal age of 18. However, your parents may join and bring you to the meetings. Our membership does include parents of a crossdresser. If you need additional information here are some good links:
