Dyno day...
On this day my friends and i went up to TAG motor sports to dyno our cars....we had a group special of 55 dollars for 1 full hour of dyno runs provided that we had 10 guys going...the original price was 79+tax
Once there we noticed a SUPER KICK ASS MUSTANG(sorry, no pics hehe)... the guy does pro drag racing, has 8xx whp currently because he DETUNED the engine....he says he can burn rubber in 5th gear going 230kmph.....and i sure believe him!!! u should have seen the size of the turbo he was running! it must have been as big as my waist!
Sooooo after seeing that nice car i was already quite intimidated...on top of this there were maximas there running n2o and other secrets as well as a gen4 camry with trd supercharger....and here i am with my little 1600cc drinking bottle trying to put down 3 digit figures onto the dyno...
A maxima got 190whp from intake and exhaust....go figure, i couldnt figure it out either, but i was mighty surprised....those things are beasts.
my friend with the s/c camry put down 189whp with 4psi boost and an auto tranny! not too shabby for a "grocery getter" now is it? dont mess with camry's ppl, they're boosted ;)
now to the good stuff....i went in thinking "hell yea, i got small port 4age, i took out an EP3 and i got I/E with advanced timing, i expect 110whp"...sure, i was full of confidence but boy was i wrong. on top of all this, i kept putting down my friend's ae92 with big port 4age!! i said he'd put down 2 digit dyno #'s *rolls eyes*
so...what WERE the results? ok....here ya go: 96.8WHP and 87lb/ft of torque for my car....i need to scan my dyno to put it up but for now u can just laugh at the figures, nevermind the graph =P my friend with the big port put down 98whp and 97lb/ft of torque!!!! O.O 10lb/ft more than my peice of shit...and yet i spanked him 4 or 5x in a row drag racing...once again, go figure?
nyron, a friend who drives a b16 equipped ef came with us also...he's a toyota boy in disguise :) anyhow...his first run was a dissapointing 121whp...now why is that dissapointing for a b16a1 that burns oil? wellllllll my friend vivek's zc put down 118whp smoking :p sooooo the doods at the shop busted out the timing gun and instantly made him another 10whp! O.O then he was fooling with ecu programs and taking off the silencer....at the end of the day he walked out with 135whp. a 14whp gain from 55 bucks and 1 hour on a dyno. money well spent wasnt it? yup. anyhow.....without further adu(sp?) here are the pics:
