Scientific society named after Shevchenko is Ukrainian scientific public organization. The Society consists of the scientists and conducting experts in different areas of scientific  knowledge. The activity of this organization is based on the Constitution of Ukraine and current legislation. The present community continues the traditions of a Scientific society which worked in Ukraine from 1873 to 1940. The Society has renewed the work in October, 1989.
