BARBER, Zack A. (Pvt.) Co. "K": Wounded 2 July; died 29 July at a Philadelphia hospital; 19, Cuba.

BLACKALL, George (Cpl.) Co. "G": Killed 2 July; (C-27 New York Plot- GNMP [Gettysburg National Military Cemetery]); 19, Avon.

CONFER, Daniel L. (Pvt.) Co. "I": Killed 2 July; (B45 New York Plot- GNMP); 22, Nunda.

CONNOR, Nicholas (Pvt.) Co. "E": Femur fractured 3 July; died 25 December at a York, Pennsylvania hospital; body subsequently removed; 21, Covington.

DOREN, James (Pvt.) Co. "E": Killed 2 July and buried in J. Benner's cornfield; (B48 New York Plot- GNMP); 24, Covington.

ELWELL, Charles C. (Pvt.) Co. "H": Wounded in the head and instantly killed on the skirmish line 3 July; (B47 New York Plot- GNMP); 28, Wethersfield.

FOLMSBEE, John (Pvt.) Co. "G"- Wounded 3 July; died 14 August at Satterlee Hospital, Philadelphia; effects, amounting to $9.50, and a pistol and cartridges sent to his brother Aaron on 15 August; 22, Geneseo.

FRANKLIN, William (Pvt.) Co. "H": Severely wounded in the leg 3 July and subsequently died; buried in Isaac Lightner�s orchard; (E-97 New York Plot-GNMP); 32, Wethersfield.

GAGE, Elias (Pvt.) Co. "B": Killed 3 July; (A-65 New York Plot- GNMP); 27, Burns. The following additional information about the Gage family was submitted by Ginny Gage (E-mail: [email protected]): Elias Gage was born in 1835 in the town of Southeast, NY and was a member of Co. B, 136 NYSV. He was mustered into service as a private on the 25th day of September 1862 at Portage, New York. Elias was killed in action at the Battle of Gettysburg on either July 2 or July 3, 1863. Elias Gage had married Lodorsca Miller on June 2, 1860 in Almond Village, Allegany County, New York. They had two daughters: Susan Ann who was born July 5, 1861 in Almond County, NY, and Mary Lodorsca who was born on February 2, 1863 in Burns, Allegheny County, NY. Lodorsca Gage at some point moved to Topeka, Kansas with her daughters. She never remarried after her husband's death. She received a pension shortly after Elias's death until the day she died on May 5, 1908. Susan Ann married D.A. Starr and Mary Lodorsca married Alexander M. Maupin. Elias had a brother, Joshua, also with the 136th New York, who died July 23, 1863 in Washington, DC of typhoid fever. He's buried in the Asylum National Cemetery there. Elias had two other brothers who also served during the Civil War: Romanso and Edwin Burr Gage. They were both with the 11th CT Infantry. A cousin, Milton Gage, served with the 59th New York throughout the war.

GIBBS, George H. (Cpl.) Co. "B": Killed 3 July; 25, North Dansville.

HANIGAN, James (Sgt.) Co. "E": Killed 3 July and buried in J. Benner's cornfield; (D-36 New York Plot- GNMP); 26, Warsaw.

HOVER, William (Sgt.) Co. "G": Killed 2 July; (B-49 New York Plot- GNMP); 25, Avon.

HULL, Daniel V. (Pvt.) Co. "G": Wounded in the middle third of the right thigh 3 July; died 12 July; (B-91 New York Plot- GNMP); 19, York.

IKINS, Simeon (Pvt.) Co. "K": Suffered a compound fracture of the left arm, and wounded in the head (both wounds inflicted by a shell) 3 July; died 29 August at Letterman Hospital of gangrene and buried the next day in Section 6, Grave #19 of that hospital's cemetery; (moved to D- 119 New York Plot- GNMP); 19, New Hudson, single.�

Pvt. Ikins was buried under the wrong name in the cemetery. For nearly 140 years he laid under a tombstone with "J.C. Kent" on it in�Soldiers' National Cemetery in Gettysburg National Military Park.� Lt. Colonel, Charles Ikins, corrected his family member's grave marker on July 13, 2003, after receiving National Park Service approval. This event made front page news in the following day's Washington Post newspaper. LIMERICK, Henry (Pvt.) Co. "F": Wounded 2 July; died 8 July; (C-83 New York Plot- GNMP); 35, Mt. Morris.

McWHORTER, William H. (Pvt.) Co. "B": Killed 3 July; 29, Burns.

MOSHER, George H. (Pvt.) Co. "H": Suffered a compound fracture of the humerus 3 July (resected); died 1 August at Letterman Hospital and buried the next day; 18, Portage.

SMITH, Lucien J. (Cpl.)Co. "G": Shot in the right heel 3 July; died 17 July; 24, Geneseo.

STOUT, Marsena S. (Pvt.) Co. "F": Instantly killed 2 July by a grapeshot which ricocheted off the limb of a tree under which he was standing with another soldier and hit him in the chest; (G-80 New York Plot- GNMP); 18, Mt. Morris.

STOWELL, John (Pvt.) Co. "H": Wounded in the bowels on the skirmish line 3 July; died 4 July; (B-46 New York Plot- GNMP); 18, China.

WEST, Arzy (Pvt.) Co. "H": Shot in the head during a charge on the skirmish line at 4 AM on the morning of July 3, 1863 and killed instantly at his brother's [Lafayette West] side; his grave was marked by his brother; (A-66 New York Plot- GNMP). Arzy enlisted on 3 September 1862 at Bennington, NY; 29; born at Middlebury, NY; farmer; 5' 10" tall; dark hair, blue eyes; son of Thomas and Betsey Armstrong West (Betsey died in 1847); had two sisters and three brothers- Corintha West Altenburg, Paulina West Fenton, Andrew A., Orlando, and Lafayette West. WIGGINS, Zelotas C. (Pvt.) Co. "E": Killed 2 July and buried in J. Benner's cornfield; (A-64 New York Plot- GNMP); 18, Warsaw.

WOOD, Francis M. (Pvt.) Co. "H": Wounded in the head and instantly killed on the skirmish line 3 July; 25, Genesee Falls.

YOUELLS, Richard (Pvt.) Co. "C": Killed 2 July and buried in J. Benner's cornfield; 25, Livonia.
