Internet via satellite is today possible for remote rural areas.
Assuming this kind of facility is affordable to a barangay size
of remote rural folks, what can their source of electric power be?
In the gubat are several running waters. Small scale hydro-electric
power can be installed? The water current in this photo is enough
to power several barangays! Transmission lines may be a problem
though coz the barangays, apart from being a distance away, are
also very much far apart! Can every household afford at least P200
monthly in order to recover the cost of hydro power installation?
A micro hydro power plant can be installed behind this mini waterfall
without changing the original appearance of the environment.
This is a large hydro-electric plant integrated with
water supply routes for both home use & agri irrigation.
The whole project in Nueva Viscaya cost billions!
Will this investment recover?
The ricefield behind me in this photo harvests only once a year coz it relys
on rain only for water. If irrigated, three harvests a year will be possible.
No water?! Yet the sea is so nearby!! Reverse Osmosis?
How many solar panels of this size can power internet via satellite?
