Chapter 36
Before Mackenzie could turn around her legs collapsed as she was hit in the back of her knees. She screamed in pain when two strong hands pulled her by her feet. Mackenzie could feel her stomach burn with the friction the floor was causing against her as she tried to grab onto anything that might keep her back. "Get off of me!" Mackenzie screamed as she flipped herself around so her back was now touching the floor, but it was too late. Her ankles were already being retied and before she knew it her wrists were also tied and she was back in the chair. She flipped her head back so the mass of messy hair would be away from her face. "You put up quite a fight there, Mackenzie." a voice said. Mackenzie was taken aback by these words. Whoever was talking was standing right behind her but she didn't dare to look. The only thing that worried her was that the voice she had heard was not Sam's voice at all. "Oh my god." Mackenzie thought. "It's not him...I'm going to close my eyes and wake up and I'll be back in my hotel room with Justin. This isn't happening. Tell me it's not him...." The figure walked in front of her but Mackenzie looked down not wanting to find out if her suspicions were correct. "To scared to look at me, are you? Giving up so easily? Surely you have some fight in you left." That was it. All Mackenzie's thoughts were proven correct with that last statement. There was only one person who had that distinctive voice and those hands that she had seen on her ankles. "Jeff." She said in a challenging way looking up to meet his stare. "Where the hell is Sam?" she said half-suspecting Sam was still involved in this. "What a poor, poor girl you are, Mackenzie. You wouldn't listen to me so now I have to make you pay and you are still being rude to me. Tisk tisk. As for Sam, why don't you take a look for yourself, my dear. She's just over to your right." The lights went on in a dark corner of the room and Mackenzie saw Sam sitting in a position much like hers. Sam's eyes were closed and her mouth was taped shut. Mackenzie saw her stomach rise and fall and she knew Sam was unconscious just like she had been. But this didn't make sense to Mackenzie. "What did you do to her? She helped you!" Mackenzie yelled still worrying about Sam's health. "She helped me? Oh how great that would have been. Could you imagine." Jeff said his voice trailing off. "That little bitch was way too nosey for her own good, but I must say things have worked out quite well." "What are you talking about, Jeff? Why are you doing this?" Mackenzie said. She wasn't afraid of Jeff one bit and she wanted to make sure he knew it. "She unknowingly made the plan so much sweeter, my dear. You could imagine my triumph when I heard that everyone was blaming her for all the masterful things that I had accomplished. Sneaking into your room at night with out waking up one person. Switching surveillance tapes so no one would see me. When everyone thought she did it, my name was cleared. Oh, but it is too soon to tell you my plan, Mackenzie. What fun would that be? Where is the suffering?" Mackenzie looked at him even more challenging than before. "But do you know what would make this all better?" Jeff said taking a step toward her and bending down so his face was in front of hers. "If you would promise," he put his hand on her cheek and Mackenzie almost threw-up in disgust, "to be mine." he continued to move his hand around her face. Mackenzie didn't respond in any way until his finger was over her lips. She opened her mouth as if she was going to speak but instead bit down hard on his finger. "Not a chance in hell!" she yelled as Jeff screamed out in pain. "You BITCH!" he yelled putting his finger in his mouth and sucking on it. "Don't touch me again!" she screamed back at him. "You see, that's where you are wrong. In no way can you tell me what to do, Kenzie. I'll touch you wherever I want, whenever I want." he said walking around her chair in a circle as he dragged his finger across her shoulders. "Get off of me." Mackenzie said in a calm but distinctive voice. But Jeff stood in front of her and raised his hand up next to her face. Before she knew what was happening his hand slapped her clear across her face. Mackenzie shuttered in pain but she did not make any sound. She looked down as the realization hit her. She was in no position to make threats to him. As much as she didn't want to admit it, he was in control. "That hurt didn't it?" Jeff said coldly, but Mackenzie didn't answer, "ANSWER ME!" he yelled before slapping her across the face once more, but Mackenzie looked up at him with the same look of determination in her eyes as before and she knew that this may not have been the smartest thing but she smiled back at him. It was a weak smile but a smile none-the-less.
"You know what?" Jeff said as he walked over to Sam's unconscious body and kicked her legs. "STOP IT!" Mackenzie yelled, Jeff hitting her was one thing but she couldn't let him hurt Sam any further. "Every time you piss me off, I'm not going to take it out on you...no that would be too easy, poor Sam may not feel this now but she'll be in pain when she wakes up." he walked next to her and whispered in her ear, "DON'T piss me off or Sam gets it." Mackenzie was about to comment but she bit her lip instead. How was she going to defend herself if it was going to hurt Sam each time? She needed to know what Jeff was thinking. She needed to some how make him tell her why he was doing this. "What is wrong with you, Jeff? I thought we were friends!" She said trying to sound calm "What is wrong with me? Oh, that's funny. We were never friends, Mackenzie. Every time I asked you to come get lunch with me or to go with me somewhere I was blown off because the almighty Justin Timbershit came." "Don't call him that!" she yelled but Jeff ignored her. "I tried so hard, but it didn't matter to you. Nothing I did matter to you. Even now that Justin has CHEATED on you, I still don't matter. You're so blinded by your own stupidity that you don't even know what is good for you. I am good for you." This was it, Mackenzie thought. He was going to tell her everything. "Do you know what's even better? No one has a clue that it's me! After all the times that I've said I loved you and called Justin, Timbershit. No one knew! I wasn't even important enough to be suspected! Oh, of course yesterday the guys asked me but all I had to say was no. You and your friends, even Wade, were all so stupid. Except poor Samantha over here. She was the only smart one but look where that has got her! No where good." "The guys are out looking for me, they'll find you eventually! I know Justin will!" Mackenzie said trying to convince herself more than she was telling him. "There you go again. It's all about Justin. Always the almighty pop star. I'm so sorry to tell you this, Mackenzie but Justin is about 5 hours away from here. Even if he did figure out where you are it will be too late by the time he comes. Hmmm...how about we give him a call right now...yes...." he said as Mackenzie almost jumped with joy. Surely Justin would ask Jeff where he was. If she made some kind of noise he would hear her and be on his way. Jeff began to dial a number into his phone. "Oh, Mackenzie dear? You won't make a sound if you know what's good for Sam." Mackenzie gasped when he pulled out a large knife and held it right next to Sam's stomach. All thoughts of even breathing were put off as Jeff placed the phone next to his ear.
