Mackenzie closed her eyes tightly when the morning sun flooded the room with light. She yawned sleepily suddenly remembering the nightmare she had. She stretched her hands over her head as she rolled over on the bed and hit something very hard.
"Oh my God!" she screamed as she quickly sat up in the bed and looked over to see Justin scratching his head.
"Damn, Kenzie. What did I do to deserve that?" Justin asked sitting up before realization hit him.
"What...Why am I...how did I get here?" Kenzie asked becoming self-conscious and raising the blankets to cover her.
"No...Nothing like that. You came her last night and I guess we fell asleep and then you had that nightmare and I just thought you should stay here. I didn't do anything... I wouldn't do anything. I didn't even mean to fall asleep on this bed...ummm" Justin said still rubbing his head.
Mackenzie had to laugh when he took his hand away from his head exposing his wild hair.
"What are you laughing at?" Justin asked looking around.
Mackenzie's laughter continued as she tried to contain herself, "I'm sorry.....Justin....It's just....your...."
"My what?" Justin asked embarrassed.
"Your...hair." she laughed even harder when Justin looked into the mirror and scrunched his curly hair.
"That is what you were laughing at?" he said trying to control the curls. He looked over and smiled when he saw her laughter beginning to end. She smiled up at him and watched as he carefully tried to fix his hair.
"Here, is this better?" he asked turning to face her.
Mackenzie smiled evilly, "Almost, come here let me fix it." she said as she kneeled on the edge of the bed.
Justin trusted Kenzie completely so it wasn't a surprise to her when he walked over to the end of the bed. Just as he leaned his head down, Mackenzie picked up the pillow and swung it at his head. Justin looked at her in shock.
"Mackenzie!!" he laughed before picking up another pillow and a hitting her with it causing her to fall backwards on the bed.
"Oh that's it!" Mackenzie screamed, "This is war." she said before swinging the pillow at him again.
After a few minutes of pillow fighting Mackenzie was on the verge of defeat. "Oh no you don't!" she yelled as she ran around the room with Justin following her. She swung the pillow as Justin reached up for it some how causing it to slam into his face, hard.
"Oww!" Justin yelled as he fell back on the bed.
"Justin! Are you ok?" Kenzie asked climbing next to him on the bed, "Here let me see." she said as Justin squirmed next to her. "Stay still!" she demanded before kneeling over him so each of her legs were by his sides holding him in place. "Let me see!" she said again.
"I think I'm bleeding." Justin said as he quickly when Kenzie came in closer. He let her pull his hand away but Mackenzie was baffled when she saw nothing was wrong. "Wha...?" she asked before realizing what Justin had done but it was too late. Justin reached out and began tickling at her sides talking her. Both Mackenzie and Justin were laughing and screaming playfully when there was a knock on the door but neither of them noticed.
"I give up! I give up!" Mackenzie laughed as she went lax on the bed.
Justin stopped when he saw her look of defeat and hit her with the pillow one last time. "Hey!" she said.
"I couldn't help it!" Justin said as he looked at her smiling face and simultaneously they began to laugh as hard as they could.
Neither one of them noticed the position they were in so it came as a shock to Nick when he walked into the room, "Hey, Justin...I don't want to get you upset but we can't find Kenzie. Do you know where she is-oh!" Nick said as he jumped back when he saw Mackenzie and Justin looking at him laughing. Justin had Mackenzie pinned down in the same position Kenzie had him in a few moments before. Justin was holding her hand above her head and his legs were spread across her waist holding her in place. "I'll ummm I'm sorry...I uhh...I didn't....I'll just go....I didn't mean to be uhhh interrupting anything..... and yeah umm ok." Nick stuttered.
"What Nick, I couldn't tell between all that stuttering." Justin said still laughing. Both Kenzie and Justin stopped suddenly when they realized the position they were in. Both fidgeted to get free and sat up as quickly as they could.
"It's not what you think!" Kenzie said tucking her hair behind her ears almost falling off the bed.
�I�m sure it�s not.� Nick said with a smile on his face. �I�ve been telling Justin for a while that you to should get together but I didn�t mean��
�NICK!� Justin yelled cutting him off, �It�s not like that� umm�Kenzie had something in her eye and�and she wouldn�t let me get it out�right�Kenz?�
�Yeah�that�s right�I better be get going so I can get ready�I�ll uhh see you two later.� Mackenzie said before walking out of the room.
Justin quickly picked out clothes and made his way to the bathroom avoiding Nick and his all-knowing smile.
�Nick! No nothing happened! Jeez�would you stop looking at me like that!� he yelled
�Oh something happened alright, J. You�re just to blind to see it yet.� Nick said before Justin walked into the bathroom.
�He never listens.� Nick said to him self as he walked out of the hotel room.
But Justin was listening and those words had sunken in his head and kept replaying over and over. Mackenzie and Justin were just friends. He was helping her get through a tough night and that�s all. Justin kept saying that over and over in his head. Maybe if he kept saying that he might actually believe it.
