| Chapter 20 |
| A few hours later, Mackenzie found her self walking aimlessly down a hallway in the large hotel. She didn't know where she was going or what time it was, she just knew that she needed to find Justin. For some reason it had become an obsession to find him and so far she was having no luck. "Have you seen him?" she asked a strange looking hotel worker. "Seen who ma'am?" the worker asked "Where is he?" she said walking away, "I have to talk to him, I have to find him." She was running down a long hallway now passing by people who were giving her strange looks. She finally came to a stop when the hallways separated and she had to pick which one to go down. She looked back and say that Nick and Jeremy were following her so she knew she had to choose quickly. "Justin" she yelled but there was no answer. She chose the hallway to the left and started looking for his room. She went down a flight of stairs calling his name. "Justin, Justin!" she yelled but still no one heard her. She looked back as she ran and almost screamed when some one grabbed her. She turned her head to see a crowd of fans had gathered and they were screaming her name. Mackenzie knew immediately that this wasn't a safe place for her to be and began to run back in the direction she had come in. She zigzagged her way down the hallways running in and out of rooms trying to get away from the screaming fans. She came to the same hallway she had before and chose to go to the right. Just as Kenzie thought all the fans were gone, she heard the sounds of their screaming and ran for the nearest door. She quickly opened it and slammed it shut just as she heard the screaming come closer. She pulled all the locks on the door and sighed. Her breathing was deep and panicked as the fans outside began pounding on the door. She watched as one of the locks came undone. "No, no. This can't be happening." she screamed still out of breath. "Mackenzie?" some one called. Mackenzie turned around when she heard his voice, "Kenzie? What's wrong? Mackenzie?" Justin called. "Where are you?" she asked looking around the room. "I'm right here." he said as her eyes focused on the back of his figure. "We, we have to get out of here. They are coming to get me." she yelled "Kenzie? Kenzie? Kenzie?" she heard him repeat. "Justin come on, we have to leave!" she said running over toward him. "Kenzie." she heard him say but this time it was not Justin, she knew it wasn't. "Wha.... Whos there?" she called to him. She watched in horror as the man she thought was Justin turned around to show his face. She screamed when she saw a very evil looking Mr. Martins standing much like he had been the day before only this time he was carrying a knife. "Mackenzie!" she heard Justin yell as a warm hand cupped her cheek. "What? No!" Mackenzie yelled opening her eyes to she Justin. "He's here, Justin we have to leave!" she yelled sitting up and looking around. "Kenzie, what are you talking about? No one is here except for us. You had a bad dream. We fell asleep here last night. Everything is ok." Justin said reassuringly as her picked her up and placed her on the bed. "But, Jus-" "Shhh....It's ok, Kenzie. It's early just go to sleep. Don't worry about me, I'll sleep on the other bed, just go to sleep and calm down." he said stroking her hair. "It was horrible." she said referring to her dream. "I know...we can talk about it in the morning. Try to keep your mind off of it and go to sleep. I'm right here." The way he said those words made her heart jump. There was no way she could keep her mind off of what had happened but she was going to try. She opened her eyes and smiled up at him as he began to hum an unfamiliar tune. "What's that?" she asked him. "Nothing, just close you eyes and sleep." Justin said as he laid himself down beside her and continued humming. At that moment, Mackenzie was in heaven. She just had the worst dream in her life and yet she was feeling on top of the world. Hearing him hum and feeling him next to her made her tingle all over. She didn't know where these feelings where coming from but she knew she had to follow them. And Justin felt the same. |
