| "Whoa there, Justin. Is something wrong? Where's the fire?" Jenna asked sarcastically when she bumped into Justin who was running out of the hospital. "What fire?" he asked dazed. "Uhh�never mind. Why are you leaving so soon?" "I...uhh I have to go! Ya know, we are busy ...with...with stuff." "That's funny because JC told me everything was cancelled for today." she said trying to hold back a smile. "Well, umm...right...I just have to go! Bye" he said pushing behind her and running outside with Nick chasing behind him. "What do you think happened?" Jeremy asked Jenna as he walked with her to Mackenzie's room. "Ohh she kissed him, she definitely kissed him." Jenna said with a knowing smile across her face. They were both about to enter the room when they heard Mackenzie crying. Jenna ran inside and sat on the edge of the bed and listen to her cries. "Honey, what's wrong?" she asked "I'm so stupid!" she said looking up at her. "We were having so much fun! He was being normal and I ruined it! Why does this have to happen to me! I don't understand he was sending me all the signs and it wasn't my fault! He just left me here and I..." she said quickly. "Whoa, honey breathes. There we go deep breaths. First of all it's not your fault and I would be worried if you did understand everything. Love is hard to understand." "Love? Who is talking about love? I'm not in love with him! I don't even know him. He just started being nice to me yesterday! Love! Ha!" Mackenzie said pushing hair behind her ears. "Whatever...Ok...maybe love was a little strong..." Jenna started "A LITTLE strong! Jenna! I'm not in love with Justin Timberlake! He just started talking to me! I don't even...I can't believe you would think that I'm in love with him! Kissing him was a mistake!" she said trying to be believable "Then why were crying?" Jenna said matter-of-factly. "I wasn't cry...I was crying because he just..." "That's what I thought." Jenna said knowingly. "I was crying because I was upset, OK! I was crying because we were finally becoming friends and then I made it all weird. He's probably grossed out by the fact that I kissed him." Mackenzie said embarrassed. "He's far from grossed out believe me." Jenna said reassuringly "Jen, he acted like I had cooties or something believe me he wasn't too happy about that kiss." Mackenzie said with a laugh "It takes two people to kiss, Kenz. You rocked his world a few minutes ago and for some reason he's afraid of that. When the time comes he'll come to you and open up, but for now you are just going to have to be patient." Jenna said tucking the sheets around her, "Now get some rest and I'll see you later." She left the room in search of Justin. She knew it had been a good ten minutes since she had last seen him but something told her that he was still there. Turning the corner she wasn't surprised to find a curly haired pop star sitting in the waiting room. "Oh, Justin I think it's time you and I had a little chat." |
Mackenzie was writing in notebook when Justin came back to her room later that night. He was about to knock on the doorframe when he saw her and froze. "Hhhi." he said still standing in the doorway. Mackenzie physically jumped when she saw him and quickly shut her notebook before placing it in a bag the was beside her bed. "Justin, you need to stop sneaking up on me like that." she said with a smile. "Yeah...sorry about that." Justin said taking a seat in a small folding chair that was placed next to the bed. Mackenzie was silently cursing herself for she knew it was her fault for causing the awkward silence to come back. "I'm really sor-" "What were you-" they both said simultaneously "You go first." they said together Mackenzie smiled when she realized she was making a big deal out of nothing. "About earlier...I'm sorry. I didn't plan on doing that and I don't know what came over me..." she began "It was my fault as much as yours. I'm just not ready for that kind of thing." he said folding his hands together. "I understand.� Mackenzie said looking away. "It's not you...It's just that...well you probably don't care but a while ago...never mind." he said looking down Mackenzie put her hand under his chin and forced him to look up at her. "Tell me." |
