Undying Devotion Chapter 5
"Bye, love you guys too." Erika said, watching Chris and Joey get into the car and drive off, waving.
They'd just come to her work to visit, and see how she was doing. With them, they'd brought a bouquet of beautiful flowers. She'd become so close with the guys, ever since NSYNC began. They were the sweetest people she knew, and had always been very protective of her.
Getting into her car, Erika started driving, not knowing where she was going. She just knew she didn't want to go home yet. She couldn't bear to arrive to
an empty house, with no greeting from her mom, and the smell of dinner cooking, and then to be alone. As she saw the park, Erika turned suddenly, decided she'd go for a walk there. Seeing a family playing happily in the grass, Erika sat down on a bench, and sadly observed it. When it was too much to bear, she lether mind wander. Her thoughts quickly turned to JC. She tried to find a reason as to why she wouldn't let him in. It was impossible though, because she knew she wanted to let her emotions out, and JC would be the one who would listen with unending patience and love. It was just SO hard. It was so confusing for her, because she loved him so much it hurt. Just before all of this had happened she had been thinking of losing her virginity to him. Both of them had been
saving themselves for someone special, who they had a deep feeling of love and trust for. For her, JC was that person. She could tell him anything and everything, knowing his feelings for her would neverchange. And now....that was suddenly different. No
matter how much she wanted to let everything out, something inside of her wouldn't allow it. Nothing felt important anymore. If it wasn't for having JC inher life, she would've felt like there was nothing tolive for. So now, when she'd been so hateful anddistant, she couldn't help but fear that he'd give upon her. And still, she had no idea how to open up to him. Lance pulled into Erika's driveway, then looked at JC and Justin, confused.
"Where's her car?" he asked them.
JC looked worried, as he answered slowly, "I have no idea, she should be home now." The three of them waited impatiently for a while, then finally drove away.
"Do you think she's okay?" JC said, more to himself than to Justin and Lance.
"Of course she is, JC." Lance said quietly.
"I hope so." he responded.
