Undying Devotion Chapter 14
Pulling half of her dark, silky hair off of her face, and pinning it up, Erika looked in the mirror. She was in a better mood than she had been in for a long time. JC, Justin, and the other guys were picking her up any time, because the fair was in town, and they were all going together. She pulled on her shoes, and walked down the hall, toward the closet. She pulled out her jacket, and put it on. As she was zipping it up, she heard a knock on the door. Then it opened, and Justin peeked his head inside.
"Erika? I hope you're not naked." he said, stepping inside.
The other guys followed behind him, led by JC, who walked over, and slid his arms around Erika's slim waist. "I hope you ARE!" he told her, with a wicked grin on his
face.
"You're such a freak!" she shrieked, and pushed him away.
She locked the door, and followed the guys to Lance's vehicle.
"Shotgun!" Erika yelled, racing Joey to the passenger side door.
"I don't think so, little lady!" he said, picking her up, and throwing her over his shoulder. He then carried her to the backseat, and sat her down inside. She glared at him, but he just laughed, and got in front.
"What? You don't want to sit back here with me?" JC asked, teasing her.
"Of course I do." Erika answered, smiling, and kissed him on the cheek.
She turned to the other guys, "Are y'all's WOMEN gonna come?"
Chris answered quickly, "Yup, Dani's gonna meet us there."
Lance and Justin just shook their heads, and Joey smiled, telling her he was meeting "Alexis."
"Who the HECK is that?" Erika asked, confused, "Some NEW vixen I haven't met?"
He nodded happily, "She sure IS a vixen!"
"Shut up, dude, you wish." Chris said to Joey, rolling his eyes. Joey turned around in his seat, and reached back to smack Chris in the head.
"Ow! That's it!" Chris threatened, trying to climb right over the seat, to get at him. JC grabbed Chris and pulled him back down.
"Knock it off, if one of you hits Erika by accident, I'm gonna throw down!" Chris and Joey stifled their laughs, and were quiet the rest of the ride.
"I'm gonna go get a soda, ya want something?" JC asked Erika.
She shook her head, and watched as he walked off in the dark. He got in the long line, and she knew he'd be there for a while. Looking down at the stuffed bear he had just won for her, she thought about how lucky she was to have someone like him.
"He's gonna be there FOREVER, you want to go ride the ferris wheel?" It was Justin, smiling at her.
"Sure!" she said, following him over to the ride. The line was short, and they were soon seated, and the ride began. They didn't talk for a while, just looked own at all the people, and the lights shining, from all of the rides and booths.
"Erika?" Justin said, snapping her out of her thoughts.
"Yeah?" she answered.
"I just want to tell you I'm REALLY happy you're doing so much better. Especially since everything between you and JC is so good again." he said, a smile tugging at his lips.
"Thanks, Justin, you're a sweetheart." she told him, "I'm glad too. I was a little worried, I thought he might get tired of listening to my problems, and get rid of me or
something."
He looked at her strangely. "OH, I never thought he'd actually give up on you. He loves you way too much. You guys were meant to be together." he started, "and I have to say, he's a very lucky guy."
"Ooh, Justin, I love you!" Erika said, hugging him.
"And you're a lucky girl, to have an awesome guy like him." he finished.
"I know it." Erika said.
Stepping off of the ferris wheel, they walked over to where JC was just walking away from the snack bar.
"I saw you try and steal my woman, dude." he said, shaking his head, "Took her on the ferris wheel and everything."
They all laughed, and suddenly Lance, and Chris and Dani walked up.
"Where's Joey?" Erika asked.
Lance giggled and pointed to a bench, "Making friends with Alexis!" he said.
They all looked over to see the couple making out.
"Oh my gosh!" Erika said, walking over to them.
"Ahem." They looked up at her, irritated.
"We're leavin' Joey." she told him, looking at him in disgust.
Joey looked disappointed, but said goodbye, and followed her back to the group.
"Let's go." Dani said, taking Chris's hand.
"Want a ride?" JC asked.
"Sure." Erika replied, jumping on his back.
