Crying On The Inside Chapter 15
Michelle drove to Justin's house not really sure of
the way. She remembered and got there with no problem.
She parked and went to knock on the door. A little
girl answered.
"Hi" she said.
"Hi. What's your name?" Michelle asked her with a
smile. She was so cute. The little girl smiled back at
her and started to twist her little blond curls.
"My name is Jessica. What's yours?" she asked.
Before Michelle could answer Justin came to the door.
"Hey. Sorry I didn't hear the doorbell ring since
I had my music on," he said breathlessly.
"It's okay," she said. He looked so good. He
opened the door wider for her to come in.
"Oh. My name is Michelle, Jessica," she said
petting the little girl's hair. She smiled widely at
her and left the room.
"She's so cute and she looks like you."
"Thanks," he said. They stood and stared at each
other again. Justin grabbed her hand and led her
upstairs. She sat in the director's chair when she got
up there.
"What music were you listening to?" she asked him
after he came in and shut the door.
"Brian McKnight. Do you like him?" he said going
over to the stereo.
"Like him. I love him," she said smiling. Justin
turned the music back on and Back At One played
softly. He reached for her hand and she looked up at
him.
"Care to dance," he said. She took his hand and
they danced slowly to the beat. He smelled her
watermelon lotion and drowned in the scent. He knew
she felt comfortable around him. She buried her head
into his chest. He felt a sudden need to protect her.
When the song ended they both sat down on the bed.
"I remember what you said to me in school. What
did you want to ask me?" she said.
"Well basically where do I fit in your world," he
said getting right to the point.
"I don't know," she said looking down.
"I mean you and I have an understanding and it's
just between the two of us. You can't deny that," he
said.
"I know and I wasn't trying to. I just need some
time with this," she said looking up into his eyes.
He
looked so sincere. She couldn't resist the urge and
she kissed him. He kissed her back. They broke the
kiss and he held her. They held each other and talked
for what seemed like hours. Until her cell phone rang.
It startled her a little as she got up off the bed to
answer it because she thought it was JC. It was Lance.
"Hey what's up?" she answered. She was a little
surpried. He hardly ever called her. Or maybe it was
because she never called him.
"Hey Michelle. I know you didn't expect it to be
me," he said laughing with that deep voice. "I need a
favor."
"Okay. What do you need?" she asked. She turned
to look at Justin. He was still lying down on the bed.
"I was wondering if you could come help me with a
few homework problems. I'm really stuck and you're
good at this stuff," he said. Michelle found this kind
of weird. Lance wasn't a dummy. But if he needed help
then she would help him.
"Sure no problem," she said.
"Can you come now? I want to get it over with,"
he said. She thought a minute. If she told him to wait
he would wonder why and she sure couldn't tell him she
was with Justin.
"I'm on my way," she said. He thanked her and
they ended the call. Justin looked at her put the
phone away and pick up her purse.
"Where are you going?" he asked getting up.
"Lance needs my help with homework," she said.
She explained the situation and he understood why she
had to go now. "It's getting late anyway. So I'll see
you tommorrow." She headed downstairs toward the door.
Justin followed and held her at the door.
"Think about what I said okay," he said. They
kissed softly. She did have some thinking to do.
"Okay," she said. She left and got in her car and
went to Lance's house.
Lance had two more phone calls to make. One to JC and
one to Philiana. He "accidentally" set up a meeting
for the two of them to meet. If Lance knew JC as well
as he thought he did, then he would go to see Philiana
instead of calling Michelle. Which is exactly what he
wanted.
Michelle's phone rang on the way to Lance's. This time
it was JC.
"Where are you? I want to come pick you up," he
said. She started to explain but he cut her off to
click over.
"Uh...nevermind...if you're doing something you
can continue. I'll see ya later," JC said when he got
back to her. She said bye and they ended the call. She
thought this was strange but didn't question it. She
had gotten out of "it" again.
Lance looked outside of his window and saw Michelle's
car pulling up. It worked. JC was the bastard he
thought he was. Lance didn't want to explain to her
what he did and why. She would then find out things
that she wasn't supposed to. He knew it was wrong to
keep it from her but it was not his place to say
anything. He couldn't wait for things to blow up on
their own and all the guilty people be exposed. Maybe
he would help that to happen.
