2.4 There will only be two elections for SGA positions- one within the first five weeks of the fall semester, and another at least two weeks before the end of the spring semester. 2.5 Setting up the ballot and polling places. 2.5.1. All names will appear on the ballot in alphabetical order. 2.5.2. Statements and pictures, if available, will be placed at all polling places for candidates for SGA positions. 2.5.3. Only pictures, if available, and names will be placed at all polling places for Honor Court candidates. 2.5.4. Pictures and lists of honors, if available, will be placed at all polling places for Mr. and Mrs. NSU. Honors will be verified by the Election Committee. 2.5.5. An alphabetical list of all students able to vote will be present at all polling places. Section 3.0- Election Period 3.1 Campaigning. 3.1.1. There will be no campaigning within a fifty-foot radius of any polling place. There will be no campaigning (i.e. any paraphernalia) displaying the name of sought position of a candidate in addition to any vocal campaigning done by the candidate. (within fifty feet of polling place) 3.1.2 Expenditures Any candidate for an executive office on SGA may spend up to $250 on his/her campaign. Any candidate for the Senate may spend up to $100 on his/her campaign. Candidates in a run-off election will be allowed additional expenses not to exceed %50 of original allotment. All candidates are required to turn in a list of expenditures to the Chairman of the Election Committee with receipts at least two days prior to the election. All donated materials must also be listed and will be assigned a retail value to be included in the candidate's budget. If a candidate exceeds his or her budget or does not turn in a list of expenditures it will be regarded as a violation of the Code, resulting in the disqualification of the candidate. 3.1.3 Any campaigning not prohibited by the Code and that does not exceed budget will be accepted. 3.1.4 No campaigning will be allowed for honor positions. 3.1.5 Poll workers will not campaign or give any opinions while operating the polls; any SGA member who violates this will be suspended from the organization for one semester. 3.1.6 Candidates are not responsible for anyone campaigning on their behalf. 3.1.7 Campaigning will be defined as any paraphernalia displaying the name of sought position of the candidate in addition to any vocal campaigning done by the candidate. 3.2 Voting 3.2.1 The polling places and times will be determined by the Election Committee with the approval of the Senate. 3.2.2 Election days will be decided by the Vice-President with approval of the Senate. 3.2.3 Each student must be identified before voting by his or her NSU student ID. 3.2.4 If a student's name is not on the alphabetical list, he or she may not vote unless he/she presents written verification from the Registrar's office that he/she has voting privileges. 3.2.5 All students will be required to sign a list with their name and social security number. 3.2.6 All Class Senators will be elected by members of their class only. This will be verified by the alphabetical list. 3.2.7 A person voting for more than the number specified voids his/her vote in that category. 3.2.8 Partially completed ballots will be accepted. 3.2.9 No write-in ballots will be accepted.
