History
Delta Sigma Pi

Delta Sigma Pi was organized on November 7, 1907 by Alexander Frank Makay, Alfred Moysello, Henry Albert Tienken, and Harold Valentine Jacobs who were students in the School of Commerce, Accounts, and Finance of New York University. Although the organization was started as a small fraternity at New York University, it has grown internationally to include 248 Collegiate Chapters (175 currently operating collegiate chapters) and over 50 Alumni Chapters. The total number of initiates in Delta Sigma Pi is nearly 200,000.

Eta Iota Chapter

The organization was established in 1967 under the name of Beta Alpha Nu which stood for Business Administration at Nicholls. Mr. James Wilkins was the first Chapter Advisor with Mr. Francis Thibodeaux as the Co-Advisor and Mr. Lionel Naquin, Jr. as the first President.

Realization of Eta Iota Chapter being chartered came at the 26th Grand Chapter Congress in Biloxi, Mississippi. The meeting was attended by representatives, President Lionel Naquin, Jr. and Secretary Larry Baudoin, when the historic announcement was made that Beta Alpha Nu had been approved for installation as Eta Iota Chapter -- this was the first announcement of this type at a Grand Chapter Congress.

The members of the Beta Alpha Nu were initiated on December 9, 1967 which marked the official beginning of operations of the Eta Iota Chapter of The International Fraternity of Delta Sigma Pi.
