2005 The fourth annual Fox Point Sunset 5 Mile Road Race was the biggest yet! An astonishing field of 188 runners took to the roads of Newington on a newly designed course. It took place Saturday, September 10, 2005 , which was a beautiful late summer day. The day was comfortable for volunteers and spectators, and a bit hot for runners. Most of the last 2 miles of the course were uphill, and more than one runner commented in appreciation of the difficulty. In a change from previous years, the race started and ended at the Old Town Hall . Many out of town runners and supporters were treated to a first look at the historic town center. Much thanks to our Premier Sponsor Newington Wal-Mart for their continued support!
