“Here is my house. From here my glory shall shine forth.” These are Mary’s words to Don Bosco in the vision. See History. The Jubilee, or Holy Year,
is a time for conversion, and it could be the last chance to escape eternal
damnation. See Indulgence

YEAR of GOD the FATHER |
||||||||||||
In
this third year of our preparation for the Great Jubilee 2000, the sense
of being on a "journey to the Father" should encourage everyone to undertake
by holding fast to Christ the redeemer of humankind, a journey of authentic
conversion. This includes both a "negative" aspect, that of liberation
from sin, and a "positive" aspect, that of choosing good. Accepting
the ethical values expressed in the natural laws which is confirmed and
deepened by the gospel is the proper context for a renewed appreciation
and more intense celebration of the Sacrament of Penance in its most profound
meaning. The call to conversion as the indispensable condition of
Christian love is particularly important in contemporary society where
the very foundation of an ethically correct vision of human existence often
seem to have been lost.
It will therefore be necessary
especially during this year to emphasize the theological virtue of charity,
recalling the significant and lapidary words of the First Letter of John:
"God is love." (4:8, 16). Charity, in its two-fold reality
as love of God and neighbor, is the summing up of the moral life of the
believer. It has in God its source and its good.

MESSAGE OF OUR PARISH PRIEST |
||||||||||||
Our Fiesta Celebration in honor of our Patronness, Mary Help of Christians, is enhanced by the Jubilee Year and the Silver Anniversary of our parish. May 24th will therefore be a JUBILEE MARIAN FIESTA for our community. To make this celebration a heartfelt community experience, we are once more organizing the AREA MASSES where we expect the participation of the members of the different Homeowners Association. Please patronize your Area Mass as scheduled. Through the intercession of our Blessed Mother, your involvement will definitely merit for your family and for your community the outpouring of the Jubilee grace. I would like to take this opportunity
to thank all of you who have supported me as your parish priest in these
past three years. You have touched my life in a very special way
and your memory will always be for me a golden treasure. Now is the
time to pass on the torch of leadership to my successor, Fr. GC Carandang
as your new parish priest. Please welcome and love him as you have
done for me. I will be praying for you constantly in the new assignment
the Salesian Congregation has given me.
Yours in the
Blessed Mother,
- Rev.
Fr. Rolo Alcasid, SDB

Our parish will celebrate the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus on June 30, 2000 with a nine day novena of masses from June 21 to June 29, 2000. Each of the novena of masses will be sponsored by an area/section with several homeowner association. Each area/section will have a coordinator from either the Men of the Sacred Heart or the Aposteship of Prayers or Catholic Women's League. Devotees of Mary Help of Christians will demonstrate their deep appreciation of the role of Mother Mary in their Christian faith particularly this Jubilee Year when they celebrate Her feast day on May 24, at our National Shrine of Mary Help of Christians (Better Living, Parañaque City, MM, Philippines). The celebration will commence with a novena on May 15-23. On her feast day, there will be confirmation rites to be presided by Bishop Jessi Mercado. It will be followed by the installation of the new parish priest, Fr. Gaudencio Carandang. There will be a procession at 3:00 p.m. It is on this light that the faithful once
again calls the world to pray the Holy
Rosary.
