Policies on Discipline

1. Maintenance of Discipline

Every School is required by government regulation to maintain discipline and to issue disciplinary rules for strict compliance. They are designed to develop among students the highest standard of decency, morality and good behavior.
  1. Any student who, after due investigation, has been found guilty of violating any disciplinary rule shall be punished in accordance with the provisions as specified in the NSDAPS Student Handbook.

  2. A record of the investigation and the action taken by the school authorities shall be kept by the school.
2. Rules and Regulations  
Students are expected to familiarize themselves of the general disciplinary rules of the school contained in the NSDAPS Students Handbook.
A student who has been proven unsatisfactory through repeated violations are placed on disciplinary probation. Such probation is considered a serious warning that any subsequent violation shall be a basis for dismissal or expulsion.

A. Identification Cards
  1. All students shall have to wear their I.D. cards when entering the school premises during class days, as well as in important activities where their attendance is required in and out of school campus.

  2. Color of the I.D. card is white with red strip (pre-school ), yellow strip (elementary), and green strip (high school).

  3. Lost I.D. cards can be replaced with the payment of pertinent fees.

  4. Temporary I.D. cards should be secured in case of lost I.D. cards.
 
 
B. School Uniform
  1. No student will be allowed to enter the school campus without wearing the prescribed school uniform.

  2. On Male's Daily Uniform
    White polo jacket with monograph and black pants for high school, navy blue short pants for Kinder o Grade. 4; and navy blue long pants for Grades 5 and 6. Black shoes should be worn with the daily uniform.

  3. On Female's Daily Uniform
    Checkered skirt with pleats and white blouse with sailor collar and necktie. Black flat shoes with white socks should be worn with the daily uniform.

  4. On P.E. Uniform
    Checkered skirt with pleats and white blouse with sailor collar and necktie. Black flat shoes with white socks should be worn with the daily uniform.
    • For Pre-School and Elementary : White cotton T-shirt for boys and girls with monogram. short pants in different colors: ( Nursery � orange, Kinder � yellow, Prep - red, Gr.1 - blue, Gr. 2 � green, Gr. 3-white, Gr. 4 to Gr. 6 � light blue jogging pants with monogram).
    • For High School : White cotton T-shirt for boys and girls with monogram and light blue jogging pants with monogram.
    • White rubber shoes and white socks are the prescribed P.E. shoes.
  5. On Accesories
    • No unauthorized patches, scarves, jewelries (dangling necklaces, brooches) are allowed.
    • Earrings are for girls only. Boys are not allowed to wear earrings
    • Tattoo for the boys and girls is strictly prohibited.
    • Wearing of cosmetics is prohibited for all students. But proper grooming shall be observed at all times.
    • Cellular phones are not allowed to be brought to school.
 
 
C. Student Handbook and Diary
  1. All students are required to bring the Student Handbook at all times especially when there are classes. Any student who repeatedly fails to bring the Student Handbook will be given sanctions.

  2. The diary shall be signed only by designated persons: mother or father, authorized guardian (if parents are not permanently around), the adviser and subject teachers of the student. Forging signature is a serious offense.

  3. The student should also have their handbook with them in every subject, in PE, shopwork, meetings, liturgical services, fieldtrips. Teachers and parents should sign and check it everyday.

  4. The diary must be kept clean, and must be used solely for the purpose designated.

  5. Lost Student�s Handbook /Diary can be replaced with payment of pertinent fees.
 
 
D. Cheating
  1. There have been occasions when both the teacher and student have been disturbed by evidence of cheating during examinations. It is the obligation of a teacher to help honest students receive what is due to them by making it extremely difficult for dishonest students to get away with cheating. Such incidents shall be reported to proper authorities of the school.

  2. If cheating is discovered, a teacher should handle the situation as he sees fit, taking care that the student does not suffer from embarrassment, insult or ridicule. However if the cheating is done, a student gets a failing grade for that particular examination, and a conduct grade of C.
 
 
E. Causes for Disciplinary Action
  1. Frequent tardiness and absence (this includes cutting classes)
  2. Truancy
  3. Immoral conduct committed within the school and in appropriate cases, outside the limits of the school premises.
  4. Stealing
  5. Smoking
  6. Bringing liquor or drunkenness when in the school premises.
  7. Gambling in any form within the school premises.
  8. Vandalism, such as tearing off or defacing any library book or magazine, writing or drawing on the walls, breaking glass windows and electrical gadgets, unauthorized removal of notices and posters from the bulletin boards, and similar acts.
  9. Carrying unauthorized deadly / harmful weapons or explosive tear gas within the school premises.
  10. Assault upon administration, teachers, employees and other students, as well as writing or uttering defamatory or libelous statements against them.
  11. Tampering or forging school records and credentials, and using them, knowing them to be tampered or forged.
  12. Giving and submitting fake, fabricated or misleading information in any official record or document submitted to the school administration.
  13. Organizing, recruiting and joining any fraternity / sorority unauthorized by the school, or any subversive organization in or outside of the school.
  14. Hazing in any form, committed in connection with any student activity, whether within or outside the school premises. Due to serious injuries to health and even death of victims of hazing, the following penalty / action may be adopted depending upon the gravity of the case:
    • recruiters who undertake the hazing may be dismissed / dropped or excluded from the school roll immediately.
    • victims of hazing ( whether voluntary or not ) may be allowed to finish the school year but will be asked to transfer to another school at the end of the school year.
  15. Discourtesy to school officials, faculty members and non-academic employees.
  16. Disturbance, obstruction or interference with the normal functioning of classes, school offices and recognized school activities.
  17. The use, possession, sale or distribution of narcotics or dangerous drugs, such as shabu, marijuana or lysergic acid (LSD), except when expressly permitted by law.
  18. Theft or damage to the school property owned by any member of the school community.
  19. Bringing, possession, exhibition and / or display any absence or pornographic magazine or picture within the school premises.
  20. Any other causes analogous to the foregoing as may be deemed appropriate.
 
 
F. Categories of Administrative Penalties
The three (3) categories of disciplinary administrative sanctions for serious offenses or violation of school rules and regulations which may be applied upon an erring student are:
  1. Suspension is the penalty in which the school is allowed to deny or deprive an erring student of attendance in classes for a period not exceeding twenty (20%) percent of the prescribed class days for the school year or term.
    The decision of the school on every case involving the penalty of suspension exceeds twenty ( 20%) percent of the prescribed school year of term shall be forwarded to the DepEd Regional Office concerned within ten ( 10 ) days from the termination of the investigation of each case for its information.

  2. Exclusion or Dismissal is a penalty in which the school is allowed to exclude or drop the name of the erring student from the school roll for being undesirable; and transfer credentials immediately issued. A summary investigation shall have been conducted and no prior approval by the DepEd is required in the imposition of the penalty.
    The decision of the school on every student involving the penalty of exclusion from the roll, together with all the pertinent papers therefore, shall be filed in the school for a period of one year in order to afford the DepEd of opportunity to review the case in the event an appeal is taken by the party concerned.

  3. Expulsion is an extreme penalty on an erring student consisting of exclusion from admission to any public or private school in the Philippines and which requires the approval of the Secretary, the penalty may be imposed for acts or offenses constituting gross misconducts, dishonesty, hazing, carrying deadly weapons, immorality, selling and / or possession of prohibited drugs such as marijuana, drug dependency, drunkenness, hooliganism, and other serious school offenses such as assaulting a student or school personnel from entering the school premises or attending classes or discharging their duties, forgoing or tampering with school records or school forms and securing or using forged school records, forms and document.
    The decision of the school on every case involving the penalty of expulsion, together with the supporting papers shall be forwarded to the DepEd Regional Office concerned within ten (10) days from the termination of each case.
 
 
G. Proper Hair
 
 
Boys should sport the school�s prescribed haircut. The measurement shall be 1x1 for 1st year to 3rd year students, and 2x3 for 4th year students. Girls are expected to wear a well-combed, properly kept hair. No colored or highlighted hair. This will be strictly observed.
  • Haircut shall be inspected every first Monday of the month, or the following day in case Monday is a no-class day. Class advisers are responsible for their respective class. Anyone caught without the prescribed haircut shall be given a warning or non-admission to the class by the person in authority or shall be sent home.
  • Habitual non-compliance will mean suspension or non admission the following year.
