OKLAHOMA
(12-0) vs USC
(12-0)
NCAA Football National Championship at the FedEx Orange
Bowl
7:00 CST Tuesday, January 4th in Miami
So much for a BCS controversy. Yes, there are more than two undefeateds,
but how can anyone blame the BCS for leaving Auburn out? They are out anyway you slice it! The
computers didn’t “save” OU as many ill-informed sportswriters are
putting it. If we had the pre-BCS
system we still would be in the Championship! The only thing that maybe would’ve given Auburn a fair chance
is a playoff. Lets look at the Rankings.

You do have to feel for Auburn. The year they finally pull off a perfect
season there’s no spot left for them.
I guess their scheduler should probably over look the Citadel next
time.
HEISMAN WATCH!!!
The Gulf
Coast Sooners Club has tentative plans to gather at Woody’s for the Heisman
Awards Show.
OKLAHOMA - BIG 12 CHAMPIONS!!!
We destroyed
Colorado on Saturday with an outpouring of the offensive prowess we’ve
come to expect and the stingy defense we’ve been waiting all season to see
finally gel. What a great season to
be a Sooner!
The Big12 football championship
game was Saturday, December 4, at Arrowhead
Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri. Kickoff for the ABC nationally
televised game was set for 7 p.m. (CT).
Mmmm… buffalo
burgers anyone?
It’s another perfect season (Third under Stoops!)
for the Sooners as Oklahoma shuts out
Baylor 35-0 (recap). On to the Big XII Championship game and
beyond…

Put another W in the win column as OU creamed the
Cornhuskers 30-3
on Nov.13
Saturday the Aggies gave us a run for our money in
the 42-35
shootout at Kyle Field. Let’s hope
the last two weeks will be our only near misses this year and we breeze by
Nebraska, Baylor, and ISU or the Huskers again.
The 38-35 victory
over Oklahoma State was certainly scary enough for Halloween weekend, but
like most things feared in life it looked far worse than it really was. The early pair of special teams goofs gave
the pokes a chance they never should have had and made possible a fun game
through the last minute.
OU v Kansas
41-10W on 10/26/04 @ 12:00PM CST. Our
TWO Heisman hopefuls sure looked good.
After the team woke up they put on a show we’ve been waiting all year
to see. All cylinders are
firing! 7 and 0!
31-21W at OU v Kansas
State 11:00 AM CST 10/16/04. The
score didn’t reflect the game much.
We were never in any danger there.
The annual red river shootout in Dallas
was certainly different from our last 4 meetings with Texas but the 12–0 win
certainly had some excitement. It
looks like our defense finally showed its stuff. Now if General Stoops can
just get our boys working 100% on both sides of the ball I can envision a
certain crystal football in our near future!

The battle of the big
scorers in Big12 south was a little disappointing as far as the scoreboard
went but a win is a win. OU v Texas Tech
(W 28-13) provided records for Jason White (OU’s career Record for most
touchdown passess) and freshman phenom Adrian Peterson (100+ ypg in first 4
games in freshman year).

Well I don’t know about you
but I completely missed the OU vs Oregon
game (W 31-7) last Saturday (9/18) as I was evacuated from Hurricane
Ivan. I hope you all made it through
with no major losses. Hopefully we
can all get together for the OU vs Texas Tech game on October 2nd. At least our team made it through the
weekend unscathed!
Not-surprisingly the
sooners “hung half-a-hundred” and more on the Houston Cougars Saturday night
as the Gulf Coast Sooners Club enjoyed our second watch party (and win:
63-13) of the season. This past
weekend the top twenty-five was full of upsets along with an especially high toll on our Big12
North brethren. RIP – Nebraska, Iowa
St, Missouri, and Kansas State! Could Kansas rise
from the ashes to challenge us in the Big12 Championship this year? Toledo is no Baylor you know… way to go
Mangino!
Speaking of former
Sooner standouts…Quentin Griffin showed off his stuff in Sunday’s Denver v
Kansas City NFL match-up. “Q”
finished with a TD pass, 156 yards rushing on 23 attempts and two great TD
runs of 25 and 47 yards.
Thankfully OU has a
solid start and with this outstanding offense we’ve got a championship worthy
team. Thanks to Shelly and Woody’s
Bar-B-Q in Daphne, AL for hosting (all future events will be
there) and thanks to the OU Alumni Association for the great giveaways!
The Gulf Coast Sooners Club (GCSC) inaugural
gathering on September 4th was treated with the Oklahoma Sooners
first win over the Bowling Green Falcons 40-24.

Story

Halftime at OU vs Bowling Green
The GCSC watch party was hosted by the proprietor (and
Sooner Fan) of Woody’s
Bar-B-Q in Daphne, Alabama. Due
to the facilities available and the burdensome size of our fast growing
group, all future Sooner watch parties are currently scheduled at Woody’s.
