BLOOD SOULS
Blood Souls is the first of my novels, a prequel of sorts to The Goblingod as it is set fifteen years before the events of the main saga. The development of this novel came about early in my attempts to get The Goblingod Saga published. Though I had an agent who read and liked a lot of the first book in the series, Ellerigan Quest, her response was that an agent, and therefore a publisher would not be willinging to take on such a hefty project from a first time writer due to the risks and cost involved. But rather then letting this dishearten me, I went ahead at creating a new, much shorter, self contained novel. As it is, the finished work of this attempt, Blood Souls is a much shorter book then any of the others in The Goblingod, but work that I never the less extremely pleased with. I am now hoping to use Blood Souls as a launch pad into getting my work published, and I so pleased with the new characters and story that came out, that I am starting work on a sequel, Blood's Legacy in the very near future.
I choose to set Blood Souls in the same world as The Goblingod because I had spent so much work developing this world, the races, creatures and mythology that I wanted to put that to use in a way I hadn't worked it before. Only a couple of characters are early incarnations of those in the main saga. This is a story about new heroes, and a new threat...the titular ritual of The Blood. As it stands, if The Goblingod never got published, I would still have a great story here.
As with every novel, you can access three sample chapters, and the main synopsis, (on a seperate page to avoid spoiling too much for agents, publishers and friends who may at one time be interested in reading my work).
Also, as soon as I get further in my attempts to find an agent, I'll be working on a seperate page detailing my progress and my aims for the future. Until then, take a look at the sample chapters, look at the synopsis if you really want to know what's going on, and do the same for the first three books of the Goblingod I have already worked on.
