In 1973 the club was formed by a group of young, enthusiastic and adventurous students
under the jurisdiction of the Singapore Scouts Association (SSA) . And since then, it was
known as the "Adult Leaders' Club" (ALC).There was
a senificent increased in membership and the total figure hit 60 in 1975.
However the SSA changed the name of our club to Scout Club 1400. But a year later the club
decided to dissociate from the SSA and thus a new club was born...
The Adventure Seekers Club (ASC).
With
the new constiution from the Students' Union in 1981, the club was renamed again. Now it
is known as "The Adventure Seekers" club (TAS).
1984
membership increased to 250 and a year later new membership figures showed more than 300.
With the hard work put in, the club won the Best Society Award in NP.
As
expected (in 1986) our membership increased again and to a satisfactory number of 500
while we claimed the Best Society Award again! 1987 was a year we introduced the 5
assistant section leaders and with a better performance, we got our 3rd Best Society Award
as well as the Challenge Award among the other clubs in NP.
The
year of 1988 proved to be a memorable year when we achieved about a thousand membership.
Within the year we also won two awards - Best Society Award (our 4 consecutive award) and
the Challenge Award (we got in the 2nd time in a row).
