Rose Lake Park, Leroy, Michigan: near Jim�s house. Jim camps there a lot and loves it there. You can get lake view campsites. There are lot of activities for the kids.
Pleasant Lake County Park & Campground, Jackson, Michigan: This campground has its own lake but I don't know how close the campsites are to the beach.
St. Joseph County Parks: There is one park that has a modern campground, it is Cade Lake County Park in Sturgis, Michigan. It has a beach.
Muskegon County Parks: There is one park that has camping. Pioneer Park is on Lake Michigan but the beach access is down some stairs.
Huron County Parks at the tip of the thumb. These campgrounds are right on Lake Huron with lake view campsites. The rules are one camping unit per site for one family up to eight people and only one vehicle per site but the campsites are $18-$23 a night so we could get several campsites.

Branch County Parks: There are three campgrounds in this park system. It looks like two campgrounds are right on a lake. Angel Cove Park is not on a lake.
Sanilac County Parks: There are four campgrounds at this park system and 3 of the are right on Lake Huron. They allow 4 adult per site.
