Well, in obvious news, we have a new website! Everything is new! As far as our recording goes, all the music, and vocals are done. Mixing and mastering will be done in the next week. We appologize that it's taking longer than expected, but we want this cd to rock!! In other news...Geocities sucks my ass. I made this sweet flash movie for the site, and it wont let me keep it up here because its too big! Any suggestions?!?!? Hmm...we have 2 shows coming up. We'll be playing in Flint for the 1st time on November 16th which should be cool. and of course, we'll be at Mugs Hideout on the 17th. Come to both! Ok, time to shutup. Talk to you all soon I hope!

Hi everyone! I've got a whole lotta news today...so pay attention! ;) 1st of all, if you didnt know already, we're back in full force with a new bassist, and new songs. So whats the best thing to do? RECORD! yup thats right...we'll be locked up in Tempermill studios October 26th and 27th recording 4 songs. Natalie will be the only old one on there. 3 new songs! Also, we have quite a few shows coming up, all which should rock! If you need directions or anything, let me know. In bigger news, November may be huge for us. You'll hear more about this later, but let me just say for now that we're going to Chicago and could come home a completely more professional band! Like i said, i'll fill everyone in when we get back from Chicago. We're going on the 4th of November, so wish us luck! (even though you dont know why you are wishing us luck...haha) Anyways, for now, I have to go. But hope to see you all soon! Later!

We found a bass player!!!!! Yes, it's the truth! We finally have someone to replace Randy! So, things will be picking up aain hopefully. Pictures will be taken soon with Ryan and a new CD is already in the works! Ryan used to play bass in a band called All the presidents men, he's a great bass player and a fun guy! And you ladies, you will love this guy! Haha...dont worry, there will be pictures up soon! We dont really have any shows coming up right now because we are working on getting tighter for the recording, but we have 1 show scheduled for November 16th at Mr. Mugs in Ypsilanti. More info on that to come. Hey, if you still like us, if we still have fans out there (being that we havent done shit in the last 4 months) Email me!! Send us an email telling us why you like Nowadays. The most creative email will win something....and its something you will like, I promise! hell, maybe even everyone who takes the time to write us anything at all will win something! Anyways, thats where we are at right now. See you guys sooner than later!!

Wow...im an updating machine lately huh?! I just wanted to let you all know that we are still a band, we have a lot of new material, and new equipment!!! Heres what Dan and I bought in the last week or so:

Dan won $3300 at a casino up north, and so he went out and bought a Gibson Les Paul Studio!!!! Nice huh?! He loves it, and I want it!

I, on a whim bought a Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier. I got a really good deal, and its barely used at all! So anyways, we are going to sound better now hopefully! We're on the lookout for a band van...are you selling one? Know someone who is?! Tell us! Oh, and we still need a bass player! Email me...NOW! Haha...ok, anyways, we'll see you all soon...we promise! Later!

Wow, only a month and i'm updating the news section again! Anyways, we've got some news. We played a house party at Dougs last week....it rocked! We all had such a great time with everyone, and made new friends from California! The bass player search continues...Joe was a great guy and we thank him dearly for helping us out, and jamming with us...but musically, things were not clicking. We have 5 or 6 people now that want to try out though...i'll keep ya posted on that. We have 2 new shows scheduled. September 7th at Jacobys, and November 16th at Mr. Muggs. Check the shows page for info. Right now we're working on new songs as usual, and concentrating on tightening up little things. And also working on booking shows for the fall. We're hoping to hit the 100 show mark by 2002...but we'll see if that actually happens ;) I guess thats about it...keep checkin here for news on the new bass player and show news, cd news, ect! Latez!

Hi again everyone. How are you today? I am pretty good. We finally figured out a bunch of shit that we had to deal with as Nowadays. If you didnt know, Randys wife Diana was pregnant, and she had a little baby girl 2 weeks ago. Congrats Randy and Di on your beautiful baby girl! This however poses a problem for Nowadays. Randy decided that with this new responsibility, he wouldnt be able to continue Nowadays. We were holding him back, and visa-versa. So, we put an ad in the Metro Times, and got a few call backs, and one that possibly may work out. I'll keep you posted on that. We have a show on July 30th at a place called the dugout (its actually in doug's basement..haha) That show is with Never Heard of It (from California) The Gibbons, and Ten Ninety. I'll put info on the shows page soon about how to get there, price, ect. We've been writing a whole lot lately, and the new songs are pretty strong I think...very poppy! Plans are to record again (At Tempermill) at the end of August. I hope we can make this happen! We will also be doing a photo shoot with a guy doug knows. We'll be doing 5 rolls of film, and will be getting press photos made, and soon, you'll see a whole new outlook of this site. New photos, New bios, ect. On a different note, i've been getting fed up lately with the Detroit music scene. And this is hard to take, being that I basically grew up in it. I've noticed no appreciation between bands. Bands seem to play their show, then them, and their fans leave...which sucks. I (and the rest of Nowadays) try to always stick around for the other bands. The reason being that sometimes, those are the only people who are there to see you. We've played many shows in front of less than 10 people. Even bands who are friends of ours seem to play, and leave...not even thinking about the rest of the bands that night. There seems to be an awful lot of ego'ness lately....more than ever before. I hate it when a band plays, then sits on the stage, talking to their friends, while the other band is waiting to set up...that shows arrogance in my eyes. Maybe I am seeing this all wrong...if you have thoughts on this, i'd honestly really like to hear them, so email me at [email protected]. Thanks for listening, and if I offended anyone I appologize. As always, thanks so much for listening to Nowadays, and coming to shows, and supporting us! Every person who comes to our shows means a lot to us! If you wanna set up a show for the near future, email me...we need to start playing again!!!!

Take it easy!

More news, more changes, Nowadays has lost yet another member. Pat quit about a month ago. He just never called us again...we had no idea what to think up until about a week ago when we talked to him...and he just said he lost interest when jamie wasnt in the band anymore. So basically, we have yet another new member. Some of you may be familiar with our new drummer. He's the drummer of Multi-grain, and also sings for The Consolation Prize...as well as other projects he's involved in. So anyways, Dug saved our asses...he played the Bean Machine show with only 2 practices under his belt, and did one hell of a job with it too! The show was the best show ever for Nowadays. The show was actually sold out...haha. Which really sounds funny...but we hit capacity that night at the Bean Machine. I will write more tomorrow, some show updates, and more on Nowadays future. For now, i'm going to bed!

HEY! So, i've definately got some news for you all. We finished the CD (if you didnt know that already). It has 5 songs on it, and you can hear all of them on our songs page for FREE! Or you can pick up a CD at a show...they are allso free at shows as well. We got our press photo done as well. The last month has been a very busy one! But things are going well for us! If you are over 18, and can make it, come to jacobys this Friday, we are playing with Levagood, and the downtown brown...2 amazing bands! Hope to see you there. In other news, we are putting together a street team. If you have any interest in being on it, email us at [email protected] and tell us you want to be o the street team. Any help would totally be appreciated! We are currently in search of a label to help us put out the EP. If you own a label, or want to help us out, email me please! Well, I guess thats about it. March 12, 2001

Well, A lot has happened once again. We've played a couple more shows, written a couple new songs, and Randy has come along really, really well! We're all very happy with his addition. Big news though, as of today. We are going to be going to Digitrax studios in Garden City to do an EP. 5 songs will be on it, and we are hoping to have the CD release show at the March 31st show at the Wired Frog. We're going to be recording it March 23rd-25th. So wish us luck! Hopefully all will go smoothly. Chances are this CD will be free...but it may cost as little as $1 also. We'll just have to see how much we end up spending. We're also working on getting some t-shirts printed by a friend of ours...but those wont be ready by the 31st. Right now, we've only got a couple shows booked. We're really concentrating more on the recording, and writing new stuff. March 31st though, make sure you all are there!!! You'll hear 2 new songs, and be able to pick up the CD as well. I guess thats about all for now, thanks for your support as always!! Oh, and Make sure you sign the guestbook before you leave!!!

Till next time!!

Hey all. I have a lot of news this time. We played a few shows, including our last show with Jamie, and theres been a few changes. 1st off, Jamie isnt with us anymore. Things just didnt work out. Our new bass player is Randy, he used to be in a band called Out By Tuesday. He adds a whole new feel to our music. Come check it out! We played 2 shows this past weekend. Randy had 2 practices before he played his 1st show with us, so we didnt expect it to be a very good show. But Saturday at the Wired Frog was definately our best, and most fun show we have ever played! Thanks to everyone who came out!!!! Sunday at the Token was cool too. In other news, we will be recording soon....for sure!!! No dates for sure yet, but its going to happen. T-shirts are on their way also! A lot is happening right now, with a couple different labels, and with shows as well. Come check out the new Nowadays on Friday at Jacobys!! Its pts revenges 1st show since last year! See ya all soon!!!!!!

January 30, 2001

Hey! So now that i'm not drunk, i'll write a little bit more about
the shows on Friday. The Shelter show...hmm...
Well, we went on at 6:20. I had told people to get there by
6:15 or 6:30 cuz I didnt think we'd go on so early. That
was dumb of me huh? Mostly everyone got there as we
were finishing up. So that was disappointing. I think we
played for about 20 people or so. Oh well...still a fun
night! After that, we went over to Jacobys, set up and started
rocking!! We went off at Jacobys. It was probobly
one of our best shows yet, if not THE best show
yet! The place was packed and we got a really good response.
So thanx to everyone who came out to either show. As far as
other news, we really need to record. Sue from Static Records
wants to work with us, so we have to get something
recorded for her, as well as a couple other reasons
It sucks not having any money!!! Maybe after
another house party, we'll be able to get into the studio.
We've got quite a few shows in February also
so check the shows page for info on those. I guess thats
about all for now. Thanks again for anyone whos supported us
so far! We love you guys!!!!! Go see Fear of Dreams
on February 21st at Jacobys. Those guys fuckin rock!!!!
bye for now, see you all soon!
--Nate--

January 26, 2001

Thanx to dug for hooking us up with that show, and to randy for hooking us up with the shelter show! well, thats about all for now...i'll write more tomorrow when i'm not so drunk!

Be there dammit, its going to ROCK! The shows this weekend were fun, 45 Cents rocks! They are a blast to play with. Anyways, im going to sleep now, 5:24am is past my bedtime. g'nite, see you ALL on Friday!

January 14th, 2001

This weekend was busy as hell! We played the show at the Wired Frog on Friday, and it was definately the worst show ever. We didnt play very well, and we had to go on 1st because the people at the Wired Frog dont know what they are doing. We most likely wont be back there. At least, not any time soon. Too much of a hassle dealing with them. Last nite we ended up getting thrown on a show at Jacobys at the last minute. The Throw Away Kids had to cancel because their singer was sick, so they needed another band, so we did it. The show rocked! I'd like to thank 45 cents for getting us on the show, Dont ask for rocking and being great guys, and Sue for saying she liked us! Everything definately went well last night though! We've got 2 new shows that were added for next weekend, so I hope to see some people out there!! January 26th is sneaking up quickly, and we cant wait!! See you all soon, and email me, i'm bored!!!

January 3rd, 2001

We played a last minute show at the Wired frog on the 30th. The show went pretty well. It definately wasnt our type of crowd, but we still got a pretty good response to some songs. We've got a house party show this Saturday. If you want to come, email me. We've got a couple more shows, then the Shelter show. Right now we're just concentrating on getting everything tight, and also working on 2 new songs. Hopefully we'll play both of those on the 26th. Cross your fingers, we just might have a recording out for the 26th also! Thats very sketchy right now though. See you all soon hopefully!
