Biography
Novitas formed in the summer of 2000, as a specialist ensemble
focusing on 20th Century and contemporary repertoire, with a commitment to promoting
music by living composers.

was born in Leeds and raised in Chester. She studied singing with Chester-based
soprano Diana Palmerston, before studying singing at Trinity College of Music,
London, with John Wakefield. She sang a leading role in the college's production
of The Medium (Menotti). Sara has performed as a session singer at major
rock venues around the UK, and has broadcast for BBC Radio 1 and Channel 4 Television.
Classical concert work has included Haydn's Creation at the Anglican Cathedral,
Liverpool. Sara currently studies with Jane Highfield.
Sophia

Sophia
originates from Leicestershire. She studied piano with Marleen Fleet and was a
pupil at Leicestershire School of Music, before studying performance at Trinity
College of Music, London. There Sophia studied piano with Christine Crowshaw and
harpsichord with John Henry. Sophia is an accomplished chamber musician and regularly
performs at various London concert venues including St.Martin-in-the-Fields.
Sophia currently studies with Christine Crowshaw and Thalia Myers.
