| All Ford Nationals at Carlisle, PA 30 May - 01 June 2003 NOVAMOG will again host its annual convoy to the big show. We'll leave from our favorite Roy Rogers in Leesburg, VA on Friday May 30th, proceeding north on Route 15 to our favorite Roy Rogers in Thurmont, MD, where we'll pitstop and pick up more NOVAMOGGERS, and on to the Carlisle showfield as follows: Departure Leesburg: 11:00AM Arrive at Thurmont Roy Rogers: 11:45AM Depart Thurmont: 12:15PM Arrive Carlisle showfield: ~2:00PM Directions to Roy Rogers Resturant: 540 E. Market St. Leesburg, VA. Easy access from DC by either Route 7 Leesburg Pike or Leesburg Greenway (toll). From DC, Route 7 becomes E. Market St. From the Greenway, you exit onto Route 7Bypass/15 North and go left on Sycolin Rd, and left again on E. Market St to Roy's. Directions From Leesburg, VA to Carlisle, PA. Fairgrounds: From the Starbucks (or Roy Rogers) parking lot, turn EAST onto Business Route 7. 0.5 miles to a left turn onto Route 15 NORTH toward Frederick, Md. In Frederick, get in left lane of Route 15 and turn left as you cross I-70. If the convoy gets separated here, the leaders will be running a bit slower until everyone catches up. Roy Rogers Thurmont, MD: From Frederick to Thurmont, MD. is about a 15-minute trip. We�ll make a stop in Thurmont at the Roy Rogers restaurant at intersection of Route 15 and Md. Route 806 (mile marker 28) to pick up folks joining us there. Then back up Route 15 NORTH to an exit at York Springs, Pa. onto Route 94 NORTH through the little town of York Springs. Continue on Route 94 until it merges seamlessly with Route 34. This takes us into Carlisle. Follow Route 34 directly through downtown Carlisle. After you pass a Hardees on your left, make the next left turn. This takes you directly to the Fairgrounds. Proceed to Gate 3, which is registration and entry into the show field, stopping at the Registration office to pick up your packet and goody bag. Hotel/Banqet: The MCA has again arranged with the Raddison Penn-Harris as the club Hotel. For general details and directions to the hotel, go to www.merkurclub.com. Merkurs are back agin at our old location on the showfield near the dyno (last year we were over the hil out of sight/mind). If you can't join us for the convoy, meet us there on the showfield. |
